The adventure started with the players playing their followers aboard the Sea Ghost.

The crow's nest lookout shouted that wyverns were lifting off from the Cloud Castle and flying this way. They had riders on their backs. As they got closer, the lookout was able to count 20 wyverns all bearing riders. Other followers came on deck to see what was going on.

A few minutes later, the riders were circling around the Sea Ghost. Then some of them got closer and 8 riders, all jann warriors of the cloud giant, Tempest, leaped from their mounts and floated to the deck of the Sea Ghost. The jann who landed closest to Captain Merrick was Theris Stormcloud, whom the group spoke to previously prior to accepting the job for Tempest. Captain Merrick inquired politely of their business, to which Theris told him he must surrender the Sea Ghost to him and his men. The captain was taken aback at this command, having assumed cordial relations between Tempest and the group. He inquired as to why and Theris told him it was because the owners (the PCs) planned to betray Tempest and would fail to keep up their end of the bargain for which they had agreed.

While the conversation was going on, Lanita (Kalin's acolyte follower) retreated into the forecastle with her husband and cast a Messenger spell. It took a few minutes but eventually a falcon arrived, flying in through the open porthole. Meanwhile, Lanita had written out a message that she could send to the group. Both Lanita and her husband though that the falcon looked suspiciously like the falcon that Darkthorn had befriended.

Meanwhile, back in the Misty Sea, the group was preparing to rest for the night aboard the larger version of their folding boat. Suddenly Shadow, Darkthorn's falcon friend, went racing away into the darkness back the way the group had come. Darkthorn was perturbed by this but no one knew what to make of it. Many minutes later, Shadow returned with a message tied to his leg explaining what had transpired aboard the Sea Ghost. It was clear that the followers and crew would not be able to defend the Sea Ghost against a war party of 20 heavily armed and armored jann. The crew will have been captured while some of the followers will have sought shelter inside the Ghost Vaults, hoping for rescue before food ran out.

The group was enraged at Tempest's betrayal and sought to understand why. They eventually concluded that Tempest had planned this all along and that, when the group eventually found the statue for which they had been sent to retrieve, something about the statue would make them not want to return it to Tempest. They decided their best course of action was to proceed with the original plan.

The night passed uneventfully and, in the morning after a cold breakfast, Darkthorn and Dyson took up oars and rowed forward. They eventually encountered what appeared to be the far wall of the Misty Lake and proceeded to follow it in the same general direction as it curved sharply. A short time later, they came to another wall that forced them to choose directions. They took the one that seemed most aligned to the Commune With Nature spell that Darkthorn had cast the previous evening heading up a narrower (but still quite wide) part of the lake where both cloudy walls were visible. The passage then opened up and they continued to follow a cloudy wall.

Then, almost simultaneously, the group was able to see an island ahead in the Misty Lake. Lorcan had been using his Mage Wind spell all this time to help improve visibility and this it did. At the same time, about 50 feet ahead of the boat, a large dragon head emerged from the see and told them to "DEPART."

Darkthorn and Dyson stopped the vessel with some help from Lorcan's Mage Wind. They sought to converse with the dragon and were successful in doing so. They asked questions and learned a a faerie was imprisoned on the island and that the dragon would not let him depart. After more discussion, they convinced the dragon to allow them to talk to the faerie. Lorcan and Kalin were chosen and had to remove all magic items and wear a metal bracelet that prevented spell casting. Then the dragon let the boat moor up to the rickety pier.

Kalin and Lorcan disembarked and climbed the incline to a small house that overlooked the Misty Lake. At the door, a female faerie was waiting for them, a look of curiosity in her face. She introduced herself as Lily Greyweb and told them that she had been kidnapped by the dragon and imprisoned here. Her desire was to return to her good friend Tempest, the cloud giant. While Kalin spoke with her and learned more, Lorcan burned a spell point and studied her aura. He discovered that she had a major curse on her but he could tell no more. Eventually Kalin and Lorcan excused themselves to go discuss what they had learned with the rest of the group. They walked back down to the pier. Much discussion ensued, including some questions to the dragon, whose head was above the surface some 20 feet away. The dragon let them know that if they could remove the curse, and convince Lily that she was no friend of Tempest's, then she would be free to leave the island.

Wiley exchanged places with Lorcan and he and Kalin returned to Lily's cottage. Kalin told Lily that she had a curse on her that prevented her from leaving the island. If they could remove the curse, then she could leave. It took some explanation and persuasion but they convinced her to accept a Remove Curse Ritual. Wiley found a suitable location near the cabin and began drawing his pentagram. Then, after a short rest and meal, he commenced a 10 hour Ritual of Preparation. At the end of this, he had Lily enter the pentagram and he began the Ritual of Remove Curse. After 16 more hours of ritual, it was successful (with the use of a Luck Point) and Lily became very disoriented. She felt like she had just awakened from a long sleep plagued by bad dreams. With the curse removed, she certainly did not feel that the "evil cloud giant" Tempest was her friend.

With her disorientation and vague memories of what had transpired in recent times, the group brought her up to speed. She wanted to return to the Dark Forest, which she considered her home. When she learned that the Green Man was a statue, and the Dark Forest was overrun with evil faeries (called Phookas), she thought that maybe the first action would be to try to make things right in the Dark Forest. After that, they could tackle the problem of the Sea Ghost being captured together with her crew.

GM: This is where we stopped for the night.

GM: I awarded 2000 EXP for the session. Not much combat but lots of thinking and role playing.
