After exploring the new Ghost Vault, the group spent a couple of days resting and recuperating after the difficult battle with the ghost and the fire revenants. During this time, the group got to know the shipwrecked islanders better. One of the women, a young lady named Lanita, turned out to be an acolyte (level 2 cleric) of Pelor. Her husband was one of the original crew of the Sundown but became a loyal follower of Pelor and later Lanita's husband. They also have a daughter.

GM: Lanita and her husband have become two of Kalin's followers.

Also among the shipwrecked crew of the Sundown were two elves. One of them is Bernick Tallwood and he has had some training as an E&E mage (level 2). He is very interested in continuing his training and asks to become Wiley's apprentice.

The other elf is both a fighter (level 4) and a fire mage (level 3) by the name of Foylis Kaylor.

GM: Foylis is one of Dyson's followers assuming he is interested in a roguish follower or two.

Other former members of the Sundown are happy to sign on to the Sea Ghost to further round out the crew. One of the women is a fairly good cook.

Another member of the shipwrecked crew likes being around mages although he is not a mage himself.

GM: Lorcan chose a combination of both Navigator and Mage followers. Captain Merrick becomes one of his followers as well as a more rounded out crew. The (currently nameless) person who likes being around mages will be Lorcan's lab assistant.

GM: Rounding out followers, a falcon has taken to perching atop the tallest mast of the ship several times a day. Darkthorn goes up to speak with it and finds that the raptor seems to like him. Darkthorn has not yet given the falcon follower a name.

GM: The others did give me some ideas for some potential swashbuckler followers, so I will work on them.

After resting and getting the larger crew and others from the shipwrecked Sundown settled aboard the Sea Ghost, mostly in the newly discovered Ghost Vault barracks, Kalin cast a Divination spell to try to decide what to do next. The answer clearly indicates that they should carefully deal with the cloud castle.

Also, Lorcan casts an Identify to find out how to open the next door. He learns that the group needs a Nanorian Stone, though a minor one will do. Lorcan knows that Nanorian Stones form the hearts of large elemental creatures.

GM: All of the new followers are given access to the new Ghost Vault. Kalin also gives access to the temple to his two new followers. Assuming Dyson takes Folis as a follower, I assume he will probably give him access to the Rogue Training Ghost Vault.

It takes three days to return to the cloud castle. By this time, the ship is fully repaired from the damage caused by the storm.

As the ship gets to within 2 miles of the castle, the lookout spots 3 wyverns taking off from the cloud castle and flying towards them. The wyverns are ridden by ogre-sized humanoid creatures that might be a more intelligent form of ogre, or some sort of elemental race, who generally tend to be large.

When the wyverns get near, one of the ogres leaps off the wyvern's back and floats down to the Sea Ghost. He speaks Aerdi and tells the group that the owner of the cloud castle, a cloud giant named Tempest, would like to hire to group to recover something for him. He says that a small statue was taken by a worm-like creature that broke through the floor of the castle, grabbed the statue, and fled. The hole is too small for Tempest or any of his guards and he would like to hire the group to recover the statue. The group negotiates and agrees to recover the statue in return for a map of the elemental planes that shows the group's current position, as well as the location of the City of Glass. The ogre also says that Tempest can open a portal to get them to the City of Glass and the group takes this instead of 5,000 silver.

The group agrees to the job. An hour later, the ogre returns with additional flying mounts that carry the group to the large courtyard, which is covered mostly in grass but with a large parade ground of trampled dirt.

At the steps into the main castle is Tempest and his wife Cerulean, both cloud giants. After some preliminary questions, Tempest leads the group to the dungeon and shows them the hole. Lorcan determines that the floor is highly magical, as is to be expected of something that floats on a cloud. Aeryl sees some slime tracks of the worm.

Rigging up a rope, the group descends into the misty passages under the castle. They have not explored long before they encounter a testy invisible stalker who just wants to be left alone. They move past him. Lorcan sets off some sort of magical lightning trap but suffers no damage from it due to his magic resistance.

In the next room, the group encounters floating storm clouds about 4 feet in diameter, the clouds move slowly towards the group. When someone attempts to get past, and fails a DEX roll, they accidentally brush against the cloud and take a small amount of electrical damage. Similarly, the clouds attack with a short electrical arc that does not cause a lot of damage. When the group attacks back with their weapons, all they do is succeed in pushing the clouds back a few feet.

GM: This is where we stopped for the night.

GM: I awarded 1500 exp for the session.
