The telepathy is able to predict that actions of their opponents in combat. They can choose to predict their attacks or defenses, giving themselves a +5 (+1 per rank) to either strike chance or defense. The decision is made when the discipline is cast and cannot change thereafter without casting again. The telepath can only be under the effect of one Combat Sense discipline at any given time so, if a second one is cast, the first is negated.

The bonus, whether to strike chance or defense, does not apply if the opponent has a Mind Cloak spell or discipline protecting them.

The bonus also applies to opponents who are using ranged weapons provided the telepath is aware of them and they are within (rank x 10) feet.

Note that Mind Mask does not negate this ability, only Mind Cloak.
