By means of this spell, the clairvoyant is able to alter the target's aura so as to fool those with the ability to see auras into thinking that the target is of a different alignment, cursed, not cursed, bonded, etc. Any alignment can be simulated (law, chaos, good, evil, neutrality).

This ability also works on effects that make use of alignment. For example, if a person with this spell cast on them were to enter a room that causes all those of non-evil alignment to take damage, and they have this spell set to show them as evil, they will not take damage.

At rank 10, the spell will automatically adjust to such effects so that even if the character is not aware that only non-evil creatures take damage, the spell will adjust the character's aura to appear evil and prevent them from taking damage. This generally only works against non-intelligent effects. The GM will determine when the automatic adjust occurs in cases where the effect is more powerful.

An Aura Alteration can also deceive other types of Detect spells and effects. For example, if a ward is set to ignore demons, the character with Aura Alteration can make his aura demonic in nature and the ward will ignore him. There is a limit to this effect however. For example, if the ward is set to ignore rats, then the character would probably need to assume both the form and the aura of a rat to deceive the ward. The GM is the ultimate arbitrator on whether an Aura Alteration can be used to deceive an effect of this nature.

Unwilling targets are allowed a magic save to resist the effect.
