The telepath may "backtrace" and pinpoint a psionicist who is using a mental discipline on another creature. For example, if the telepath comes across an entity who is being "controlled" by a psionicist, the telepath may use this discipline on the "controlled" entity, provided he is within range, to find the psionicist who is controlling him. If the discipline is successful, the telepath will know the exact distance and direction of the enemy psionicist for as long as long as the telepath maintains concentration on this discipline, the target is within range, and the enemy psionicist continues using a mental discipline on the target.
If successful, the target is pinpointed and the telepath may choose to attack psionically or withdraw. He may not use his disciplines on the pinpointed mage unless he would normally be able to do so through other means (e.g. Telepathy).
Note that this discipline will work even if the enemy psionicist is protected with a Mind Cloak or similar magic as the discipline traces the mental energy from target to source. |
