Decks include any deck that has compartments. A quarterdeck does not count for this purpose. Nor does a bilge deck.
Using this formula, a 75 foot ship with a main deck that includes aft cabins and a forecastle, and one deck below the main deck (2 decks total) would cost:
If the same ship did not have aft cabins and a forecastle (i.e., it just had a main deck and a cargo/crew deck below it), the cost would be halved:
If the ship had an exceptional number of armaments or was of stronger design, etc., the GM would raise the price. |
