Blue Mountain
Master of Hurled Weapons
This skill enhances a specialist's ability with thrown weapons. The specialist's rank with this skill cannot exceed his rank with his thrown weapon(s).

Only those who have specialized in a thrown weapon can develop this skill and then it only applies to those thrown weapons in which the character is specialized. Thus, a double specialist with a dagger can develop this skill to to apply to daggers but if he throws a spear, and he is not specialized in spear, this skill cannot help him. If the character is single specialized in all thrown weapons, he may use this skill with all weapons in that category.

Bonus to Initiative
Starting at rank 2, the master of hurled weapons gains a +1 to their initiative every 3 ranks (ranks 2, 5, 8, etc.) with his specialized weapon(s) when thrown.

Bonus to Damage
The master of hurled weapons gains a +1 to damage every 3 ranks starting at rank 1 (rank 1, 4, 7, etc.) with his specialized weapon(s) when thrown.

Reduced Movement Penalties
Each rank with this skill reduces movement penalties by 2%. For example, if the attacker is running and throwing at a target who is also running, the character would normally be at -20 to hit. However, if he was rank 5 in this skill, that penalty would only be -10.

Reduced Range Penalties
Each rank with this skill reduces range penalties by 3%.

Reduced Chance of Hitting an Ally When Throwing Into Melee
For each rank with this skill, the specialist adds 3 to his roll to determine whether he hits friend or foe when throwing a weapon into melee combat.

Normally, an 03 or less for a specialist will automatically hit a friend regardless of the add bonus. At rank 8, this drops to 02 or less and, at rank 12, it drops to 01.

Increased Chance of Critical and Grievous
At rank 10, the chance of a critical hit occuring is increased by +1 (i.e., normally a modified SC of 90 indicates that a 5 or less is a grievous and a 14 or less is a crit - at rank 10, the chance of a crit is 15 instead of 14). At rank 12, this improves to +2 for crit and +1 for grievous.

When a grievous is indicated, it is actually only a chance of a grievous based on the class of weapon:

Class A = 20%
Class B = 60%
Class C = 30%

Each rank of this skill improves these chances as follows:

Class A = 3% per rank
Class B = 1% per rank
Class C = 2% per rank

A character cannot develop skill in more than one "master" skill. For example, if someone has Master Bowman skill, they cannot develop Master Defender or Master of Hurled Weapons skill.
