Spelljammer
Master Ritualist
A Master Ritualist is skilled at casting magical rituals. The master skill cannot exceed the lower of the mage's Spell Energy and Spell Memory skills (i.e., if the mage is rank 8 with Spell Energy and rank 12 with Spell Memory, they are limited to rank 8 in this skill).

Ritual of Preparation
A Master Ritualist can perform this ritual faster than most mages. Normally each hour, up to a maximum of 10, spent in this ritual improves the cast chance for a single spell or ritual by 3%. Thus, a 10 hour maximum ritual improves cast chance by 30%. A Master Ritualist is still limited to the +30% but can get their faster. Each rank with this skill reduces the time by 3 minutes. Thus, a rank 5 Master Ritualist need only spend 45 minutes to get the 3%. The full 30% bonus can be achieved in 7 hours and 30 minutes instead of the normal 10 hours. Absolute minimum, regardless of rank, is 10 minutes per +3% to cast chance.

Reduced Cost of Rituals
A Master Ritualist can cast rituals for fewer spell points than a normal mage.

Reduce the cost of a GK ritual by 1 at ranks 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18. A GK ritual can never cost less than 4 spell points regardless of rank.

Reduce the cost of an SK or Arcane ritual by 1 at ranks 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. An SK ritual can never cost less than 10 spell points and an Arcane ritual can never cost less than 15 spell points.

Reduced Chance of Backfire
If a backfire is indicated while casting a ritual, the mage is allowed a second roll to avoid the backfire. If they roll less than ((Rank + MA + 5) x 2), no backfire occurs and the ritual simply fails. The roll can be made before deciding whether to use a Luck point to reroll the cast attempt.

Reduced Spell Point Cost on Failed Rituals
A mage who is rank 5 in this skill spends only half (round up) spell points on failed rituals. Additionally, they realize in half the normal casting time of the ritual that the ritual will not be a success and can abort the casting at that time, saving them some time.

A mage who is rank 10 in this skill spends only 25% (round up) spell point on failed rituials and they realize that the ritual will fail when they are only 25% of the way into it, allowing them to abort and save some time.

Master Skills
A character cannot develop skill in more than one "master" skill. For example, if a dual class mage is already a Master Swordsman, they cannot develop Master of Battle Magics.
