The character is very familiar with weapons; weaponsmiths and famous weapon forges. He can look at any weapon and; with a succeesful skill roll; tell if the weapon was made by humans; elves; orcs; etc. If the weaponsmith was relatively well known; the character might be able to name the specific weaponsmith.
If the weapon is magical; and the character rolls Success; he will know one property of the weapon; plus one additional property for every 20 points above Success that he rolled. If he rolled Absolute Success; then he will know all properties; as well as any curses that might be associated with the weapon. Partial Success with a magical weapon; reveals only the race that made the weapon and a little of the history. Near Success yields the specific weaponsmith who crafted the weapon and more of the history.
If the character is proficient with the weapon being studied; he can determine the magical "plus" of the weapon with any degree of success (partial; near; etc.) |
