Blue Mountain
Range of Field
Range of Field skill reduces the multiple attacker bonus that attackers get if they outnumber their opponent. Attackers normally get a +10 to their Strike Chance (SC) for every person above one attacking a target. Thus, if three people are attacking a single target, the three attackers each get a +20 to their SC.

Each level of Range of Field skill reduces this bonus by 2% per rank. So, if the character is rank 4 in Range of Field, and is outnumbered two to one, the attackers gain a +2 bonus to attack him. If he is outnumbered 3 to 1, the attackers get a +12 instead of a +20.

Combatants who have more than three different types of attacks also count as multiple opponents for the purposes of Range of Field. For example, a gargoyle has four attack modes; claw, claw, bite and tail so, for purposes of this skill, they count as two opponents. If an opponent with no Range of Field skill is in melee with three gargoyles, they are effectively outnumbered six-to-one and each attack by a gargoyle gains a +50 to Strike Chance.

This rule does not apply if all attacks come from the same source. For example, a highly skilled fighter gets 4 attacks per round with his longsword. He is still only considered a single opponent for purposes of this rule because all of the attacks come from the same source - the longsword.
