Rule Name:Magic Resistance
Magic resistance is an ability that some monsters have that prevents magic from working on them. It is generally expressed as a percentage chance that a spell or magic effect directed at them will fail. Thus, if a monster with a magic resistance of 40% is targeted with a spell, there is a 40% chance that the spell fails to affect them in any way. If the magic resistance roll fails, the spell takes affect normally.

In the case of area effect spells, the magic resistance only protects the creature that has the ability.

Magic resistance is considered to be "always on". However, a creature with magic resistance can willingly suppress it to allow beneficial spells to work. They must declare this at the beginning of the round and the magic resistance remains "off" for the entire round. If the creature with magic resistance is unconscious, they cannot suppress their magic resistance.
