Effects of Heat

Note that spells such as Endure Heat or Resist Heat can reduce or eliminate the effects of normal extremes of heat. The Endure Heat and Endure Cold talents can also reduce the effective temperature.

Temperature - in Fahrenheit

END Usage - If you spend NL damage for anything, apply this modifier. For example, if you hit extra hard and take 3d2 NL damage, multiply the result of the 3d2 roll by 1.5 if the temperature is between 101 and 110 degrees.

NL Exertion Cost - If you are exerting yourself physically, take this amount of NL damage each round. For example, if you are in melee combat in 125 degree temperatures, take 2d6 NL damage each round.

Lethal Damage - Take this much lethal damage in the given temperature. Collapsing due to this damage is synonymous with a heat stroke. Double this if wearing full armor (anything other than a leather jerkin).

Other - At very hot temperatures, the effect is similar to the cleric spell Heat Armor except that it applies to all armor except leather jerkin.


Effects of Cold

Everyone has a comfort range that is determined by their CON. This comfort range assumes that the character is being active. If they are resting, the comfort range increases by 15 degrees. For example, someone with a CON of 15 is comfortable in light clothing down to 50 degrees. However, it they want to rest or sleep, the comfort range becomes 65 degrees. If the temperature is, for example, 60 degrees, they will not sleep well without additional cold protection, such as a blanket.
