MortyMORTY (GM): I was hoping for some results of KCs mystery roll of 04 that was still outstanding from round 6.

MORTY: My illusionary copy of Lani lays about using fancy whirlwind attacks against the enemy having jumped out into the corridor in round 6, distracting them and even managing to do a little damage since I got critical success and made it much more lifelike including the sense of touch. I will prioritize shooting unwounded ones that are stationary first, starting with ones that are not right in front of my doorway if possible, cursing my nerves in the previous round (silently).

MORTY TECH:

ShaarillaSHAARILLA: Shaarilla is really regretting is not open to the sky! Sure it’s warmer, but she’s used to it being cool from spending so much time flying around the old Spelljammer. Right now she felt trapped, with no way out. At least she still maintained her armor spell on a regular basis…

SHAARILLA: Fortunately, Shaarilla always has her weapons with her, even though she rarely uses them. Right now it’s time to get some practice using a quarterstaff… Retrieving her +1 Quarterstaff from her Bracer of Weapons, Shaarilla tries to strike at the pirate in front of her.

TyraTYRA (OOC): Morty or Shaarilla might want to consider using their flash of insight.

TYRA: With a third scro approaching from behind, Tyra realized she needed to shift her strategy. It seemed like these scro were endless and would overwhelm the group. Instead of powering through them, she would need to outlast them. She attacked Scro 16 once and Scro 8 once with normal attacks.

TYRA (GM): Tyra's going to try to keep 2 of her three opponents in the badly wounded range. Once she has an opponent into wound penalties, she'll focus on the others attacking her.

LOWER LEVEL (Female Battle)

Lani hits her opponent three times, including a critical hit, for 30 damage. She manages to get a bit further aft towards the Wall of Darkness covering the entrance to the cargo hold. One of the pirates hits her for 2 damage.

Tyra hits scro 16 for 13 damage and scro 8 for 5 damage. Both of the scro miss her.

Further up the passage, Syl misses her opponents. Fortunately both of her opponents also miss.

At the entrance to the bridge, Shaarilla hits her opponent for 1 damage. It is still very badly wounded and misses her.

Three more scro pour down the stairs putting five scro between Tyra and Syl.


UPPER LEVEL (Male Battle)

Martin hits scro 13 twice for a total of 19 damage, badly wounding him. One of the scro hits Martin for 3 damage.

KC grows to 7 and a half feet tall, putting his head almost against the overhead and then lays into the scro in front of him, hitting one for a total of 6 damage.

GM: One thing I forgot to mention is that KC is now in the silence field.

The Lani illusion under Morty's direction wades into the combat and attacks scro 32 and even causes some damage.

Morty shoots his Mage Tech pistol at the badly wounded scro 12, killing him and then fires his second shot at scro 22, hitting it for 19 damage, badly wounding him. He is not overly concerned that the Lani illusion is sometimes in his line of fire.

As KC is fighting the scro on round 6, something seems off to him. The reactions of the scro are very good but not exactly what KC would expect. He becomes confident over the course of the round that scro 23 is an illusion. Scro 25 is also coming up on him and he is about 85% sure that it is also an illusion. He is not sure about the ones that Martin is fighting.

GM: Keep in mind the silence fields that KC and everyone else is in. KC cannot just shout out what he learned. It could be that all of the scro are illusions but it could also be that there are some real scro pirates among the illusionary ones. Right now, KC is only certain about scro 23 and is fairly certain about scro 25.

KC: So with me using power perception, would that make it easier to discern the illusionary scro from the real ones. My belief is that the real ones will have the silence spell on them since the spell needs to be on a physical target. So are any of the scro avoiding fighting?

GM: The Silence field itself is magical so when you switch to Power Perception, all you are seeing is the Silence field. It is like looking through a thick fog.

GM: From where KC is standing, he does not see any scro avoiding fighting.

KC: (GM)So that option is out. In that case I will purchase 1 point of Perception for 3000 please. That will make my PER a 25 to help aid in the weeding out of illusions from the real thing or scro.
