GM: I just send a round 10 map.

GM: On the main deck, scro 36, 37 and 6 are real. You are not sure about the rest.

GM: On the cargo deck, scro 20, 21, 27, 8 and 16 are real. You are not sure about the rest.

MORTY (GM): I'm confused. Did not my luck roll adjusted shot on Round 8 kill Scro 37? How could he then attack me on round 9 and stop my advance down the ladder to the lower deck to adjust more of my fiery writing? The only real one in my vicinity should be Scro 36 who is engaged with Martin? (And now KC as well).

GM: Sorry yes, scro 37 is dead. It is scro 15 who moved up and attacked Morty. Scro 15 is real though Morty believes the ones behind him may not be.

MartinMARTIN: Continues to attack … He’s surprised at the sudden appearance of the fiery lettering identifying some of the scro as real and some as illusion; must be Morty’s work he supposes.

MARTIN: “Mystery” Roll [rolled 27]
MortyMORTY: I refuse to let this Scro stop me from my self-appointed mission to spread the word of the illusions and make sure we have at least SOME communication in the silence. I will disengage from him and head down the ladder at my earliest opportunity to continue writing more fiery letters. If he pursues I will lead him through some of his own illusionary allies, giving others a chance to see them as illusions.

Once on the lower deck I will assess and make sure the bridge is defended, then start projecting more fiery letters down the hallway beyond Tyra and marking real scro with the letters. I am aware that I will probably take at least one free hit from Scro 15 but I'm willing to do so, defending with my shield as best I can to get to where I need to go. Once I realize how many real ones are down there I will put more letters on the main deck top of the ladders with an arrow and a numerical count of how many real scro I've spotted so far. I will use my illusion of Lani to distract enemies fighting me or Syl once downstairs.

MORTY TECH: I assume I forgo all attacks to do these other things.

ShaarillaSHAARILLA: Realizing that they might be trying to capture the bridge to prevent the ship from maneuvering, Shaarilla dashes to the controls and starts maneuvering violently in an effort to disconnect from the ship that the pirates are boarding from. The first step of dealing with an endless formal Pirates is to cut off their reinforcements. She’s now regretting more than ever the enclosed bridge on this ship, which gives her no chance of noticing something sneaking up from behind.

SHAARILLA: Shaarilla will continue the evasive maneuvers she started in round 9 in an effort to disconnect from wherever the pirates are coming from.

GM: Go ahead and send a Spelljammer Pilot roll.
SylSYL: will attack SCRO #20 (a real one!!) and attemp to block the door so they can't disturb Sharilla

SYL: Init [rolled 2], Attack [rolled 110-29 = 81 - Hit DEF 81 or less], Damage [rolled 1 3 (+4)- Total: 8], Threat [rolled 5]
TyraTYRA: Now that Tyra realizes many of these scro are illusions, she'll take out the two real ones next to her, 8 and 16.

LOWER LEVEL (Female Battle)

Tyra is surrounded by three scro but is happy to note that some of the ones aft disappear. Some but not all. There are still three of them there including the scro who keeps throwing a dagger at her. With all of the moving around, it's wonder he has not hit one of his allies. She manages to fend off the attacks of all 3 scro engaging her in melee but is unable to avoid the thrown dagger that hits her for 7 damage after PROT. The scro throwing the dagger again avoids hitting any of his allies. Tyra hits scro 8 and scro 16 once each for 12 damage each. Both are now badly wounded.

Syl hits scro 20 for 3 damage. The scro and those behind her rush forward, heedless of the disadvantage that this puts them at, in an effort to force their way into the bridge. Syl is badly out massed and has little choice but to give ground or be bowled under. However, she does get two free attacks, which she can make on scro 20 or 21. For both, she gets a +15 to her SC.

GM: Go ahead and send the 2 free attacks for Syl adding +15 to SC for each.

Shaarilla does what she can to try to avoid or break whatever link has been established through which the scro attacked but, since the Void Wanderer is in Otherspace, she is somewhat limited. Then she notes the scro coming onto the bridge.


UPPER LEVEL (Male Battle)

Morty makes his way down the ladder doing what he can to avoid being hit by scro. He is unsuccessful as the scro hits him for 4 damage as both descend the ladder. At the bottom, Morty sees that the hall is jammed with more scro, none of which seem to be illusions as far as he can tell. He uses his illusions to write that this is the case as two more scro move up on him.

GM: Morty can either retreat up the ladder a couple steps so that only 2 scro can attack him, or continue to the bottom where 3 can attack him. My assumption is that he stays on the ladder so that only 2 can attack.

The second scro hits Morty for 3 damage. Morty suddenly notes that there is fiery writing above the Lani illusion in a language that he recognizes as orcish but is unable to decipher what it says. However, the scro are completely ignoring the Lani illusion. He suddenly also notices fiery writing above his own head in the same language. There are two words that he can decipher. They say "kill him" with an arrow pointing at Morty.

KC: What does the firey writing say over morty and Lani illusion? Language: Orcish rank 3.

GM: KC believes that the writing above the Lani illusion says the equivalent of "illusion" in orcish. The writing above Morty says "kill him".

Cardiff and Godfrey finally succeed in killing their respective opponents. Meanwhile, most of the scro on the main deck aft of Martin and KC suddenly wink out leaving only scro 36 and scro 6.

KC hits scro 36 on initiative 13 and then kills him with a grievous hit on initiative 10. He steps up and hits scro 6 for 5 damage on 9. Martin hits the scro with a critical hit on 6 that leaves the scro badly wounded. The pirate hits Martin with a critical hit for 18 damage.

GM: My assumption is that Martin will use a Luck point since the hit would leave him with only 7 HP leave. The reroll is a miss.

GM: There is only 1 scro left on the main deck. All of the illusions have winked out except for the fiery writing in scro above Morty and the Lani illusion.

GM: Map to follow shortly. Then you can send your round 11 actions (plus Syl can send her 2 free attacks for round 10).

TYRA (GM): Which scro is throwing the dagger? Also, how aware is Tyra of the trouble outside the bridge? She should probably finish off the scro around her but if she feels the bridge is at risk, she may want to extract herself from this combat to help out Syl.

GM: Send 2 PER rolls, one for seeing which scro is throwing the dagger and one for noticing the assault on the bridge. You need a 3x for each.

SYL: Will take both free attacks on Scro #21 since he is closest to Sharilla

GM: Syl hits twice but gets the sense that scro 21 is bigger and badder than the other scro. her first attack did not seem to do any damage. He might be some sort of scro leader. And it definitely looks like he is intent on removing Shaarilla from the pilot's seat.
