MortyMORTY TECH: I will burn a Fate point to attack this thing with everything I have. Damage is [rolled 6 1 5 (+4)- Total: 16] electrical, save for half. I will gladly overload the pistol to use all three charges at once if you'll allow it. Threat roll to hit Tyra, assuming one is even needed when burning a Fate point, is [rolled 66]. If I fail at this, I will use a Luck point also to reroll that, [rolled 87].

GM: Go ahead and send an attack roll. You may roll well enough that you don't need to use a Fate point. If you use a fate point, you essentially declare that you rolled a 1 to hit and the target takes x1.5 damage and suffers a -15 to its save. (with a critical hit, it is either-or).

MORTY (GM): Ah so it's like a spell crit. Okay, if this is just a crit I will save the fate point for another shot, possibly the very next one, but if it's normal hit I'll use it to declare a 1 and get both effects.

TyraTYRA: Tyra continues to attack spell caster zombie, fighting defensively, sacrificing 10 SC for +5 DEF. She will also hit extra hard to hope to get some damage through.

Tyra swings with all her might and hits the wight for 10 damage. Ghoul 2 hits Tyra with fish and scores a grievous hit with its bite. Fist damage is 2 after PROT and bite damage is 12 after LOW. Tyra will need to make a Normal Save to avoid paralyzation. Note that Tyra's attacks and the ghouls attacks happened on the same initiative. The wight misses Tyra with both claws.

MORTY (GM): I assume I cannot use my luck point to force the wight to reroll that bite attack on Tyra, perhaps the distraction I provide? She doesn't have any luck points left, right? Depending on her save I may have to react drastically.

GM: Correct, Luck (and Fate) points are generally reserved for personal use.

TYRA: Save vs Paralyzation [rolled 88 vs save of 72 - Failed Save!]

TYRA (OOC): I'm totally fine if Morty wants to shoot at these creatures with a chance to hit her. At this point, she's more likely to be paralyzed or drained before she runs out of hit points.

TYRA (GM): She'll use her luck point and hope to get lucky. [rolled 78]

MORTY (OOC): Make him reroll the grievous bite attack! Argh!

TYRA (OOC): My understanding is the since the ghoul hit with both attacks that she would have to save against either of them. Having him reroll the grievous would be her typical action but that won't avoid having to save right? I suppose she doesn't get a bonus or any protection from already making a save against this ghoul's paralyzation. It does seem a bit unfortunate Protection from Evil doesn't help more in this case.

MORTY (OOC): You're right, I didn't read that right and didn't see that the fish (sic) attack also hit.

MORTY (GM): I assume that means she's paralyzed?


GM: Yes, Tyra is paralyzed for [rolled 4] rounds.

MORTY: "Tyra's been paralyzed! We need help in here NOW!" I look in desperation from Tyra, to Lani, to the wight, and grimly raise my pistol, turning the power dial up to 11 (this last is just RP fluff, not a real thing). I then sight the wight and pull the trigger, loosing the biggest blast my little pistol can manage, trying to keep it from draining the life from Tyra and turning her into yet another undead minion.

TYRA (OOC): If you're going to use a fate point in attacking the thing, you may be able to use a fate point to alter Tyra's save before she uses her luck point. Luck points are fairly limited in what they can do but my understanding of fate points is that they have much more flexibility.


GM: He cannot use a Fate point to alter someone else's fate, even if the wight is now likely to target Morty.

TYRA (OOC): Yeah, it's not good with your tank goes down like this. I guess we'll see how this resolves and hopefully the group doesn't get overrun since these undead seems pretty tough.


Lani hits ghoul 1 twice for 3 damage. It is now badly wounded. The ghoul hits Lani once for 4 damage.


Martin switches to attack zombie 8 and hits for 13 damage. Syl also hits it for 3 damage. The zombie misses. Zombie 8 is now Very Badly Wounded.

Barnas hits zombie 9 for 2 damage. It is now badly wounded. The zombie hits Barnas with a critical hit for 14 damage. With 2 Luck points, and the end of the month so close, I will assume Barnas uses a luck point, which turns it into an normal hit for 5 damage.

KC hits zombie 7 for 1 damage. It is now badly wounded. The zombie misses KC.

Shaarilla keeps watch in the back.

With Tyra being paralyzed, Morty shoots at the wight with his mage-tech pistol. He hits squarely doing 24 points of damage. The wight is now badly wounded.

The wight turns toward Morty. It leaps from one sarcophagus to the other and swipes at him but misses.

Morty shoots at the wight but misses.

MORTY(GM) : I will use a luck point to try to hit the wight. Assuming a simply +5 doesn't make it hit I rill reroll [rolled 87]

GM: Using a Luck point to add five to your strike chance turns the miss into a normal hit. Morty does 10 points of damage. The wight is now Very Badly Wounded.

Meanwhile, the ghoul that had been attacking Tyra shifts to attack Lani but misses.

Lani hits ghoul 1 once for 5 damage. The ghoul misses Lani.

Martin misses zombie 8 but Syl does not, hitting for 2 damage. The zombie misses Syl (due to her enhanced DEF).

Barnas hits zombie 9 for 2 damage. The zombie misses Barnas.

KC misses zombie 7. Likewise, the zombie misses KC.

GM: Everyone can send their round 7 and 8 actions. The Bless spell is no longer active after round 6.

LANI: "SYL, I COULD REALLY USE YOUR HELP WITH THESE GHOULS," Lani shouts, and then adds, "AND THE WIGHT IS NOW ATTACKING MORTY BUT LOOKS BADLY WOUNDED."
