GM: I plan to resolve round 2 on Wednesday. Here are my assumptions for those who have not yet sent in turns.

Martin - Attack with spear
Morty - Make another attempt to distract the giant with the angel illusion.

ShaarillaSHAARILLA: Since the Frost Bolt worked so well, Shaarilla decided to try it again. It was nice having enemies that could actually be affected by cold!

SylSYL: Starfire worked (barely) so well she will try it again before joining the melee.

TyraTYRA: Tyra couldn't believe it when we realized she was flying up to engage the giant. Not really sure how this was possible, she embraced this good fortune by shifting to the side away from his shield arm and getting close to his club arm. She steeled herself for the brunt of the giant's attacks knowing that the stoneskin protection would soon be gone. Taking advantage of her opportunity, she pushed her attacks.

Attack 2 (Giant Basher) - Init: [rolled 7], Attack: [rolled 120-30 = 90 - Hit DEF 90 or less], Damage [rolled 17], Threat: [rolled 34]

TYRA (GM): Not sure if there's much I can do with the flying maneuverability but I was thinking if the entire group can surround the giant and Tyra can try to force him to shift to give the others a more favorable angle to attack from. Also, since he's wielding a club she gets the master 'swordsman' bonus to her defense. It's not much but every few points should help.


TYRA (GM): Forgot the NL for both attacks: NL Damage: [rolled 1 1 2 - Total: 4], NL Damage: [rolled 1 1 2 - Total: 4]

Barnas attacks and misses.

KC attacks twice and misses.

Martin attacks and misses.

Lani attacks twice and misses.

Tyra attacks twice and hits both times for good damage.

Both Syl and Shaarilla cast damage-causing spells with critical success. Unlike the previous round however, the giant makes his save vs both of the spells but damage is still good.

The giant continues to concentrate on attacking Tyra since none of the other combatants have been very effective up to this point. The giant hits Tyra will all three attacks. The first would have been a confirmed grievous if not for the Stoneskin spell. The final Stoneskin layer is destroyed by the second attack and Tyra takes 10 points of damage after PROT from the third attack.

Morty again attempts to distract the giant with his all too real illusion of the angel but the giant continues to ignore it.

GM: Go ahead and send your actions for round 3. I plan to resolve on Friday.

GM: Right now you have the right number of people in melee on the giant where no one is getting in each other's way, mainly because Tyra is flying.

GM: Although a spear is a better weapon to use against a giant, Martin's reduced skill with it makes it less effective so he might want to switch to sword.

MORTY (GM): I bought Spell Energy to 5 a little while ago, forgot to mention it, which means my pistol now has a maximum of 5 shots, it's not showing that on the turn page, though it did pull in the increased spell points of 11 properly. I assume I cannot get a clear shot with Tyra fighting in mid-air or has she circled around behind and I have a (nearly) clear shot? Also, my Shadow Magic is in a spell store, FWIW.

GM: Yes, Tyra is flying at a higher level so there is a chance that Morty might hit Tyra if he shoots. She may have circled around behind multiple times but the giant can easily turn so it is not static enough to make a shot risk free. Because of the size of the giant, partially offset by the fact that Morty is deliberately shooting high, it would be considered 2 on 2 for the purpose of shooting into melee.

MORTY (GM): Since the giant is obviously ignoring the angel, I decided to have a little fun with it at the end of round 2 I will concentrate on it enough to alter the illusion significantly, make it turn bright red with anger, grow horns and a tail, turning into a devil, turn around and moon the giant, and then expel a monstrous fart, disappearing with the effort with only a vague cloud remaining (so that I can alter it again later into something useful if I wish, I'm not dispelling the illusion completely). If I am allowed to alter the points spent on the illusion to make it a stronger smell, removing the programmed illusion part, as well as increasing the size of it a bit, I think that would be maximum humor value, and who knows, it might distract him a little.
