Tyra takes the proffered flask from the "celebrant" butthen tells the group, "I will drink from it but will do so last."

Lani takes the flask from Tyra and although not entirely convinced that this is the right course of action, is confident that the flask will not do her any harm since she has seen the man drinking from it often enough.

After taking a drink, she smacks her lips and passes it on to KC, who watches Lani for half a minute or so and, when she does not keel over or show any other signs of permanent harm, takes a drink himself and then hands the flask to Morty.

Ten seconds later, Lani collapses to the ground. Immediately one of the grave diggers grabs his shovel, leaps over to where Lani is lying on the ground and picks her up none-to-gently. He carries her over to the grave marked with her name, dumps her into the grave and begins filling it up with the dirt piled to once side.

Morty, in the process of taking a drink himself, pauses and wonders if this is really the right solution. Then KC collapses to the ground. A different grave digger grabs his shovel and leaps over to the unconscious (or maybe dead) KC and carries him away to his grave.

GM: Let me know if anyone is going to try to stop Lani or KC from being buried.

SHAARILLA: Shaarilla thanks hard and fast, trying to decide this really is the way back to the Star Sprite.

SHAARILLA (OOC): Using Flash of Insight to decide if we should stop this or go along with it.


KC: ZZzzzzzz...(l think that this is the way to go. "The Celebrant save your earthy fate." Drinking from his chalice.)

SHAARILLA (OOC): I also think it’s the way to go, bu on the surfacet it looks like a TBK without a fight. Thus the Flash of Insight do check…

SYL: patiently waiting for the Flash of Insight to take a dirt nap.

MARTIN: “This has got to be the strangest thing we’ve ever done…”

TYRA: Tyra is visibly uncomfortable with the process and winces as her friends collapse and hauled off to their graves. She does not take action and stands stoically as the others drink from the flask.

MORTY: "I suppose if I trust my deduction, I have to follow through with it. Everyone has to drink, so it may as well be me next..." Morty drinks an appropriate swig and lies down waiting to pass out.

MORTY (OOC): I think this is some kind of feign death brew, it might have been worth someone spending a point to look at the celebrant as he was drinking it to see if any magic was being activated, but I don't think an Augury would have given any help because divinations seem deliberately obfuscated. And just to be clear, this IS the result of my Flash of Insight, I just couldn't figure out exactly what would happen when we drank, just that we had to drink it to proceed successfully.


GM: I will send the next turn, probably tomorrow, with the assumption that Morty will drink and pass the flask to Barnas, who will drink and pass it to Martin, and then Syl and then Shaarilla and finally Tyra. Let me know if anyone is not going to drink or take any other action.



Morty tips back the flask and takes a swig. He hands the flask to Barnas and then lays down on the ground. Immediately one of the grave diggers leaps over, grabs the still conscious Morty and carries him over to his grave. He tosses the gnome into the grave and starts shoveling dirt on top of him. Morty struggles for a bit as dirt hits him in the face and body. He struggles to keep his face clear of dirt, but then collapses into unconsciousness.
Barnas watched the spectacle with mixed feelings. He feels that he should go to aid Morty but the gnome is the one that seemed convinced that this was the right course of action. Once the gnome is unconscious, Barnas takes a swig of the liquid and passes the flask on to Martin, who also takes a swig. Martin passes it to Syl who sniffs it tentatively before taking a cautious drink. At about the same time, Barnas collapses to the ground and a grave digger leaps over with his shovel, picks up Barnas, and carries him to his grave for burial.

After drinking, Syl passes the flask to Shaarilla. Shaarilla is also unsure that this is the proper course of action. She waits a bit until Martin has gone the way of all of those before him before she too takes a drink. She hands the flask to Tyra who doesn't pause at all. She takes a drink and hands the flask back to the leader of the grave diggers. Shaarilla drops to the ground and is carried to her grave and buried. Tyra soon collapses as well leaving only Syl still standing.

Syl looks around uncomprehendingly. She drank before both Shaarilla and Tyra but while they have both collapsed already and are being buried, she is still standing. She wonders why. She can feel that she is drunk and everything is a bit of a blur. She looks over at the graves. The grave diggers are all working industriously filling the graves. Lani's grave is already half filled and KC's is not far behind. 'This is ridiculous,' she thinks to herself. 'Everyone took a drink and they are now being buried in their graves. How can this possibly be the right thing to do? Maybe the riddle was a joke intended to lure naive adventurers to her death.' She wonders if she is thinking these thoughts or speaking them out loud. She is not sure.

Only one grave digger is not busy filling a grave. He is standing near Syl with shovel in hand. He and other grave diggers are still singing though the words escape Syl's comprehension. Her mind is a fog. She feels that she could easily fall to the ground and sleep but another part of her is warning her to run away as fast as she can.

SYL: Will attempt to sing with the group then she will take a larger sip from the flask then carefully lay down in the grave and take a nap.

SYL TECH: Singing [rolled 101 (Near Success)]

Syl begins to sing along with the song as best as she can in her inebriated condition. Then she indicates to the man that she wants another drink. The man passes her the flask. She tips it back and takes a drink. She hands it back to the man - and then collapses to the ground, unconscious.
