SHAARILLA (GM): Would Power Perception help with determining which are illusions and where the center is?


GM: It might if there were not a Silence field inundating the entire area which radiates as magical. Thus, when using Power Perception, it is like looking through a thick fog and only more highly magical effects will shine through.



KCKC: good thing he is wielding daggers cause he has very little space overhead. He attacks the real scro 36.

MortyMORTY: On round 9 I will concentrate on adjusting my illusion to add 4 inch high glowing letters of fire in midair on both ends of the corridor I can see, saying the words "Illusions!" and above the heads of the two real ones I will put "Real!" with an arrow pointing down at them. I will then move across the corridor toward the ladder (up?) to the female battle deck, can I see up to the top? If so I can add the "Illusions!" up there as well trying to relay the information.

MORTY (OOC): Hopefully KC and Martin can team up on Scro 36 to take him down and move aft toward the hold and Godfrey and his bodyguard, there may still be one or two back there that are real, but I need to spread the warning to the other deck before going to look. Where is the other bodyguard? And our Lay Healer? Someone will need to check on them as soon as we can get this combat under control, they may be wounded in a cabin or worse.

MORTY TECH: Move across hall and adjust illusion. It has a big enough area of effect to affect everywhere I can see.


MORTY (OOC): Ack, they're casting Blindness spells now too? ;)

MORTY (GM): If I haven't had reason to stop my movement (like spotting another real scro) I'd even like to continue up the ladder to extend the letters of fire illusionary warning up there. I will also add smaller letters under it to say "Most are illusions, only a few are real." Out of curiousity would it have worked to retreat into my cabin where I can speak and cast a counterspell on an object I'm carrying to move it into the silence field to nullify it and the illusions? (Assuming the silence field is from the illusion college, as I suspect).

GM: Just want to make sure you are aware that Morty has not done any writing yet. That was part of the round 9 action you had previously sent. I will add this as an addendum to your actions.

GM: I don't plan to come up with how many letters you can write in a round but will say that the writing will take the entire round.

GM: The counterspell question is a good one. Since the counterspell rules don't specifically cover it, but it is a good idea, then I would say it would work with Sorcery skill.
Lani
ShaarillaSHAARILLA: Shaarilla will return her quarterstaff back to her Brace of Weapons as she sense back to try to get out of the silence field. She looks over the fight trying to determine which pirates are real in which are illusions, as well as where the center of the spell or spells is.

SHAARILLA: Perception role for Round 9: [rolled 98 vs. PER 15, 7x roll]

SYL: Sharilla sees absolutely nothing...
SylSYL: Mystery Roll to determine if she detects that the Scro she attacked is also an Illusion

If she fails to notice or if Sharilla cannnot show her that this Scro is an illusion as well.

LOWER LEVEL (Female Battle)

Tyra continues to attack scro 4, hitting twice, including a critical hit, and killing him. However, even as she is attacking the scro, she suddenly understands that some of the scro are illusions. She is certain that the one she just killed is not an illusion but some of the others around her are not real. Scro 8 is real but scro 27 and 16 are illusions. She is alarmed by more scro coming down from the main deck and wonders what is going on up there. She also wonders what happened to Lani after she disappeared through the door to the cargo hold.

Then one of the scro further aft throws his dagger at Tyra again hitting her for 7 damage. The scro does not seem to fear hitting his ally by throwing into melee.

GM: Can you confirm what armor Tyra is currently wearing. She would not have been wearing her chain mail around the ship. I'm assuming No Armor, +1 Helm and +10 Kite Shield.

Both Shaarilla and Syl know that scro 18 and 19 are illusions (I removed them from the map). However, more scro are rushing down the ladder from the main deck and they are definitely not illusions. They ignore any fighting going on aft and concentrate on attacking Syl. The pirate hits Syl for 7 damage after PROT. Syl hits the scro for 6 damage.

Shaarilla looks around and, though she does not see anything, it suddenly occurs to her that the scro might be trying to rush the bridge to take control of the helm.

Scro 21 shoves scro 20 directly into Syl trying to push forward.

GM: Syl can attempt a DEX roll. She needs a 2x roll to suffer no effect from the shove other than to step to the side and avoid it.


UPPER LEVEL (Male Battle)

Morty spends the round writing fiery letters in the air pointing out real scro and indicating others might be illusions. As he does so, he moves to the ladder where several scro have rushed down to the cargo deck. One is just disappearing around the corner and Morty suspects he is real. Then scro 37 attacks him, ignoring the Lani illusion. He hits Morty for 8 damage after PROT but, by this time, Morty has finished his fiery writing.

KC ignores the illusinary scro and attacks scro 36, hitting once for 3 damage. Like Morty, he can now tell the real scro from the illusionary ones with moderate ease when they are within a few feet of him.

GM: I removed the illusionary scro from the midst of the fighting on both decks. Some of the ones that no one is close to might be real or might be illusions.

GM: Go ahead and send your actions for round 10. Shaarilla has a held action if she wants to use it now.
