TYRA: I don't know if we talked about this but Tyra casts Mind Cloak every morning once she wakes up. I recall this being a standard thing characters with Mind Cloak do. I assumed Psionicists can backfire but she's rank 11 with it and will slow cast each day. Let me know if you want her to make any casting rolls.

TYRA: She also runs with Mind Blank on all the time for her psionic defense mode.

KC: I don't want to stand around but I am also leary of feeding a point into the ear incase the stairs disappear......

GM: Sounds good. Is KC going to remain on the top step of the invisible stairs (one step below the ledge) or move up onto the ledge. If he moves to the ledge, does he move closer to the gargoyle with the magic in the ear?

KC: I will stay at the edge until a few more people show up behind Lani than we will move into the invisible ledge, but stay a bit away from the glowing eared gargoyle. I think it would be best to have everyone or almost everyone here first.

KC: how many of us can fit on the ledge?

GM: I just sent an updated map. The ledge is now more obvious and extends at least 40 feet or so around the tower ahead of KC. It can easily hold the entire group.

GM: I also want to emphasize that the magical spot inside the gargoyle's ear is not at all obvious. Even with power perception active, KC almost missed it. It was his exceptional perception that enabled him to see it as he was scanning for magic.

GM: I will resolve round 3 later today or tomorrow with assumption that KC and Lani hold at the top of the stairs and the rest of the group continues moving up at 2x TMR (Shaarilla will need to make a DEX roll).

TyraTYRA: Tyra will continue moving 2x TMR to the top of the tower.

KC and Lani are already at the top of the stairs, one step short of the invisible landing that stretches out before them. A gargoyle head is about 15 feet from KC and about 5 feet above the invisible ledge. KC has previously noted a small, button-sized section within the left ear that is faintly magical.

On initiative 10, the rest of the group continues moving up the invisible stairs.

On initiative 9, KC suddenly sees a figure up on the roof. The figure leaps down and lands on the invisible ledge directly in front of him. To KC, it looks like an oversized zombie but Lani does not believe it is a zombie. Unfortunately, she is not sure what type of zombie-like undead it is except that she does not think it is a zombie, and tells KC this.

GM: KC was not the least bit surprised and can attack normally. He was able to warn Lani as well. KC and Lani could flank it but that would mean one of them being on the invisible ledge. Let me know what you want to do. Because KC saw it before it jumped, he could move forward so that the zombie lands between him and Lani but, of course, that would mean that KC will be on the invisible ledge. Alternately, KC could stay where he is and fight it alone, or he could trade places with Lani and she could fight it alone.

Everyone else continues up the invisible stairs at 2x TMR. Here is where everyone is at by the end of the round.

GM: Those at 375/0 feet are actually at the top behind those in front of them. Syl, Martin and Tyra could have continued onto the invisible ledge as they had move left and the ability to safely go around people using spider climb.

GM: I will resolve the zombie's attack(s) once I know what KC and Lani are going to do.

LANI: Lani is willing to spider climb along the invisible ledge to get behind the zombie. Otherwise, if KC move forward onto the ledge and the zombie drops between them, she will step up and attack. She would get 2 attacks in the first case and 3 attacks in the second.

GM: I will make Undead Lores for the group after I know what KC and Lani are going to do.

KC: loud enough for Lani to hear, "The Roof". Then he surges forward onto the balcony; so he does not have to face this opponent by himself and it seems safer than trying to run up the wall with the spider boots.

KC: Quick draw [rolled 111 (Success)]

KC: If quick draw is successful Attack 1 throw dagger +3 of accuracy init Init [rolled 16] SC[rolled 120-35 = 85 - Hit DEF 85 or less] DMG [rolled 7] AP 45 [rolled 93] TH 47 [rolled 71]

KC: (GM) hoping to catch it as it is dropping go hopefully less defense. So be the start of next round I should have +3 dagger of accuracy in right hand and +3 wand of sorcery in FF hand.

GM: KC hits the zombie for minimal damage.

LANI: As KC moves forward and throws his dagger at the descending zombie-like creature, Lani steps forward and attacks when it lands.
LANI TECH: 5 ft free move and attack with Flame Tongue (+4 vs Undead).

GM: Lani hits all three times but causes no damage with any of her attacks.

GM: Undead Lore rolls for others as they arrive:

Martin - Believes the creature may actually be a flesh golem and not undead

Shaarilla - No idea
Morty - Morty doesn't get a very good look at it until the end of the round but concurs with Martin that it is actually a flesh golem and not undead

GM: Although only two people can fight the flesh golem on the ledge, Tyra, Syl and Martin could use their spider climb and extra movement to crawl along the underside of the invisible ledge to get past KC. Let me know if any of them want to do so.

TYRA: "I'll continue on up, if I can," Tyra will say as she attempts to get past them by using spider climb.

KC: The stairs end here at the ledge and one of the gargoyles has ears has a small area of magic in it like down below.

KC: now this gargoyle ear may form stairs to the roof or may not. If it does then do the bottom stairs disappear? Or does it do something else? Open a door ... Teleport into the tower?

MARTIN: Martin will spider climb around KC and attack the golem using his +2 mace (1 attack per round)

MARTIN: Attack - if at all possible this round

GM: Martin and Tyra are able to use their leftover movement from round 2 to spider climb under the invisible platform and come up behind KC. There is no opportunity for either of them to attack. KC stand between them and the flesh golem.


GM: Everyone can send their round 3 actions. Unless KC says otherwise, I will assume that he communicates to the others that he saw a small field of magic inside the gargoyle head's left ear (the one that KC is standing near).
