KC and Lani are only gone for about 15 minutes and then KC steps back through the portal. KC tells the group, "Weak and tortured coming through and one is named Nikalla. They were chained to pillars and starved."

KC: He will step to the side to help them as the come through. "The Drow said that they mainly saw only a female and 5 driders in the Temple side of the portal. They think it is small and there are more being help captive and most likely tortured still farther in. We only got to the first open chamber. We also found out that this is a temple of Lloth, so our captive is probably the head priestess of it or at least pretty high up."

A total of 8 former captives step through in various stages of weakness and dehydration. The worst off is a drow female, a human female and a human male. They can barely remain upright and need assistance. There is a drow male and a human male that are a little stronger and can make it on their own, at a slow pace. Another drow male looks a bit weak but still mostly capable and a drow female and a human male look fairly fresh and you learn that they have only been down here a few hours.

When the badly wounded drow female steps through, Didamia exclaims, "Nakalla!!" and rushes to her aid. She has no healing left but pulls out a flask and offers her some water.

LANI: "They said that there might be more victims deeper in so I think KC and I should go back and continue searching."

SYL: Will offer to go with them since she speaks Drow and is (mostly) uninjured. Also she does have spells that will allow them to get away if needed.

SYL (GM): Or do the Knights of Lore wish to call it good since they have their missing member returned to them??

DIDAMIA: "If there are additional victims of Lloth in there, then let's rescue them."

KC: "Okay, I am ready to head back in. If you want to follow behind Lani, Syl. That should be fine."

KC: I will wrap up the light coin and stick it in my pouch. Checking to make sure that it is not emitting any light. If so I will attempt to damper the light so sneaking is better. Once that is down I will signal that it is time to go. I will shrink back down to 3 foot high before going back through the portal and to where we left off in our investigation.

TYRA: The young warrior looks visibly relieved to see Nakalla found alive. She supports KC and Lani going back to search for more.

MORTY: I will volunteer to go along to help with manacles and locks and such. "So you didn't see many guards then?"

MORTY (OOC): I'm fully in support of a full combat group going in if this is just a small isolated secondary temple/shrine. I don't know if we should risk the wrath of the Lloth worshippers by consecrating their unholy fane, but just about anything short of that to punish them for this villainy. In addition, we may be able to find more treasure, both for the Hammership and to help the Knights of Lore and other victims here. I think Tyra might want to come as our First Aid expert as well, and leave Didamia to tend to these victims? We definitely want to leave enough guards to discourage Despana from trying anything though. It's not like the Ransom Master is going to assign punitive damages or reparations to Despana and her ilk :(

GM: Based on the conversations it looks like Tyra, Morty, Martin, KC, Lani, Syl and Didamia are here at the portal while Barnas, Shaarilla and the remaining Knights of Lore are back at the torture office guarding the driders and Phaere. Or is Phaere being guarded by the group here at the portal?

LANI: "We saw no guards at all, Morty and there may not be any." She holds up a ring of keys and adds, "We found this ring of keys just through the portal and used them to unlock the manacles. There are many additional keys that might be for manacles deeper in the complex."

KC: The captive said they saw 5 driders and one lady Drow most of the time. They had a few visitors but they left in short order after showing up. I agree we should not desecrate the temple as that would lead to some really bad mojo with the priesthood of Lloth. Freeing the captive and running off with some valuable loot would be nice! But we really need a strong guard on the priestess. The more the better. If she gets away there will be no ransom. I would rather take fewer into the temple and more on guarding her.

TYRA: Tyra would not have let us pull so many from watching Phaere. She votes that 2 others can join KC and Lani, such as Syl and Balzeda.

KC: (ooc) Let me get this straight in my mind. At the start of round 6.5 we had split the party 4 (Sly, Martin, Barnes, and Sharilla) guarding Phaere and the 4 manicled driders along with all of Didamia's group besides her.

KC: The other 4 (KC, Lani, Tyra, and Morty) along with Didamia when back to the portal to th now know Temple of Lloth.

KC: Now with martin wanting to cast invisibility on us before we went through I think could of would of been discussed before we left we left to go back to the portal. Although it could of been useful, it would of been a bigger hinderancewith the two of us keeping an eye on each other as we snuck through the place; so we decide not to do that. As far as Syl going into the temple. She would of had to left the Guard group and went over to the portal by herself.

GM: Good point. I will assume that Martin is back at the torture office with the prisoners as well.

KC: As far as Balzeda I do not know if she would of wandered over with Syl. (If Syl so did wander.)

GM: Correct, Balzeda is back at the torture office. Only Syl arrived later.

KC: So that leave KC, Lani, and Morty ot go in (with possibly Syl) and Tyra and Didamia helping the weak and wounded freed slaves.

KC: If we are going to be Stealthy when we go back in it should be KC and Lani. (The only two with Move Silently skill in the party) which I would still prefer at this junction. Morty mentioned opening manticles and locks. We have the keys and KC has open lock skill also.

KC: If we run into something we can withdraw and come back for more help. But if Morty or Syl want to come along, we can just drop the stealth part.

GM: I will plan to send the next turn tomorrow with the assumption that only KC and Lani head back through the portal unless I hear otherwise.



KC and Lani head back to the portal and step through. Let me know who else is going to accompany them and where Phaere is being guarded. I'd suggest you mount a pretty good guard on her.
