MORTY (GM): I never received the resolution email but I see the turn on the website. I would like to use what's left of my 5' free move to shift downward toward the melees as I realize they are flying up to get the flyers and avoid OUR melees. I would think that since I'm only 7' up or so to START with they would have to stay within reach of our melees to hit me but if this is your ruling I will come down. Hopefully room can be made for me within the Intellect Fortress, since Lani is no longer fighting for now...

MORTY (OOC): I definitely can't take getting hit by him more than a few times, especially since my NL damage is fueling my attacks on Spectre 3. I really do think Syl should try a Sunburst just inside the tent opening, if she has it prepared.

GM: Suggested actions for those who have not yet sent in round 3 actions. Also, I still need Magic Saves from everyone at +20 for the Sunburst.

KC - Continue using Dagger of Returning on Shaarilla's opponent.
Martin - Use spell on Shaarilla's opponent (Martin also still has an action from round 2).
Shaarilla - Move closer to the other to allow them to attack her opponent.
Syl - Another Sunburst?
Tyra - If Shaarilla moves close enough, attack her opponent with weapons.

TYRA (OOC): I'd like to step back to when we were wrapping up the treasure at the end of yesterday. Tyra would have wanted to try out the new war hammers. I'm not sure if anyone else is interested. If not, she'd ask to take the nicer one for now.

GM: There were 2 magical war hammers. After playing around with them, one appears to be a +2 weapon and the other a +3. Since Tyra has a Brace of Throwing Weapons, it makes more sense to keep these in there than the bow and arrows she has in there now.

MORTY (GM): I have also suggested resolving the identify rituals, though I think the wands and ring are higher priority, was it ever actually decided how many rituals she could do and which items were chosen? You can probably figure out normal basic attack bonuses on a magic hammer easily enough, just send rolls with no bonus and tell him which hammer you're using.

TYRA (GM): I'll wait to send actual attack rolls until I have a sense of if she'll be attacking the spectre with weapons or not. I'd say if the spectre comes within range, she'll attack it three times. If not, she'll continue with psychic crush attacks on the spectre in the tent. Assuming I can attack with physical weapons, I need to know if she can use the war hammer and what bonuses to use for it.

GM: Go ahead and send your physical attacks. You will be able to attack physically.

GM: In order to maintain attacks on Shaarilla's opponent, Tyra will probably need to move out of Lani's Intellect Fortress. The spectre is actively trying to keep Shaarilla between you and it. You can avoid that but it means no longer being in the Intellect Fortress. I assume you are okay with this but let me know if you are not. This is also true with Lani and Morty's opponent.

TYRA: Tyra is fine with this.

MORTY (GM): I am not fine with this, because I'm not trying to fight, I'm a much smaller, less mobile target, it should be very easy for Lani to get around, or even OVER me, hovering a few inches off the ground and not trying to dive from side to side unpredictably. No matter what, I shouldn't HAVE to be more than 8' from her at any given moment. Since when do we let the enemies dictate our defensive formations? We virtually never get to force a tactical advantage on enemy defenders, even forcing them to shift a foot or two is a major challenge or requires special battle manuevers (which usually sacrifice quite a bit of effectiveness). If we simply stay in a ring-like formation with Shaarilla in the middle (not fighting hard, so not needing to move a lot), Morty at her feet, and all of the others ringed around them, everyone should be within the fortress with the possible exception of one person at the opposite side of the ring formation (likely Tyra). This does have the disadvantage of only allowing two melee attackers to have guaranteed opportunities to hit each spectre, but Syl is casting anyway, and I'm not sure what Martin is doing, has he even acted?

MORTY (GM): All that being said, I am pleasantly surprised that you had the spectres attack Lani and Tyra in the resolution email, so I guess my concern was unwarranted. I have also spent XP on a rank of Hit Points (finally) and another rank of Endurance to find some inner reserves in this battle.

GM: That was exactly the point. As long as Tyra was focused on attacking the spectre and protecting Shaarilla, and not focused on staying within 8 feet of Lani, then she was going to be able to do both (protect Shaarilla and attack the spectre). Similarly, as long as Lani was focused on protecting Morty and attacking the spectre, instead of focusing on staying close to Tyra, then she to was going to succeed. It actually doesn't even mean that they did not stay within 8 feet of each other. If the death's head spectre had attacked Tyra, she would have had to make a 2x LUCK roll to see if she was within 8 feet of Lani.

Initiative 2
Syl begins casting Sunburst. It goes off a few segments later with the use of a Luck point.
Spectre 1 made its save and takes half damage.
Spectre 2 failed its save and takes full damage.

GM: Everyone can send a magic save vs blindness. Syl warned of the attack so everyone gains a +20 to their save. Morty rolled critical success on his last save so gains an additional +10.

LANI: Magic Save 85 + 20 = 105 [rolled 6 vs save of 105 - Critical Success!!]
TYRA: Magic Save 48 + 20 [rolled 79 vs save of 68 - Failed Save!]
MORTY: Magic Save vs Sunburst: 62 + 20 + 10 = 92 [rolled 79]
KC: Saving throw for round 3`s Starburst spell is [rolled 64 vs save of 77 - Successful Save!].


GM: Ouch! Let me know if you want to use a Luck point. If she keeps the failed result, she will get a CON roll each round she is blinded to determine her modifiers to PER, SC, DEF and TMR (with a 1x CON roll immediately ending the blindness effect).

TYRA (GM): She'll just roll with it. It's likely she'd fail a reroll anyway. She does have blind fighting so perhaps it'll be fine.

TYRA (OOC): It's been my opinion that AOE spells that negatively affect PCs are often not worth it unless it's incredibly effective against our enemies. Furthermore, there are more PCs than opponents and it's likely that one of us will fail the save.


GM: I have updated the online character sheets to reflect the drain hits on Lani, Morty and Shaarilla. Note that this also reduces their total HP.

MARTIN: will cast Bolt of Energy at one of the spectres. And, obviously, stay close to Lani for defense.
