SYL: Question - Syl is not in combat currently, correct so she could use a Drow ability, spell or move into combat?

GM: Correct.

SYL: To throw the Scro off balance and even the playing field a bit, Syl will use her innate Drow ability to cause Darkness.

GM: Being a Navigator, Syl knows that the main thing to do this round is to prevent him from injecting spell energy into the helm. Darkness may not do that and may, in fact, hinder the group in trying to stop the scro.

GM: The scro is putting himself at a huge disadvantage by sitting at the helm obviously hoping that he can activate the helm before he can be killed. I would even say that if he could put up a Darkness himself, he would do so. He may even thank Syl for putting up a Darkness spell.

SHAARILLA (GM): I vaguely remember that only the pilot that supplied the power point can steer a ship. Am I remembering this wrong? Can someone else spend a Power Point to override the previous pilot?

GM: No, if the scro has spell points and knowledge of what to do, he can override what is already programmed into the helm.

TYRA (GM): Would Syl or Tyra be able to block him by physically injecting our body into the seat thus preventing him from properly sitting down? Is there a tackle move we can try? Tyra doesn't know how piloting the ship works to know how fast he can take control but she's clear that if he gets control it's bad for us. She's willing to take more extreme measures than just attacking him.

GM: Tyra is not in a good position to do so though Syl might be. However, the scro has a higher mass than Syl so it is iffy. Tyra's best bet is probably to attack, maybe even extra hard (even though she is already badly wounded). The scro is also badly wounded and will have almost no DEF because of what he is trying to do so a couple of good hits could easily kill him.

GM: Basically, the scro has very little chance of succeeding but is obviously desperate enough to try. Of course, if he has a Fate point, then he might have a better chance but even that won't help if he gets hit twice by Tyra and twice by Syl before he can do whatever it is he needs to do to the helm. He has a PROT of 7.

TYRA: Yeah, I almost pushed but I also wasn't sure I was close enough to get both attacks in. Since I already sent in my attack rolls, can I still take you up on your suggestion to push? It's also tempting to use a luck point to reroll my 95 roll.

GM: You can use a Luck point for the 95 you rolled and push at the same time.

TYRA (GM): Sure, we'll have Tyra be bold though this could take her to very badly wounded.

MartinMARTIN: Looks around and can see two scro, one on Tyra and one on Lani. He sees KC headed for the one on Tyra, and the one on Lani is the easiest for him to get to so he’ll head in that direction.

MARTIN: I think the distance should be a half move or less, so here is one attack:

MortyMORTY (GM): Doesn't it require concentration? I was under the impression it was not even possible while engaged in melee, like spellcasting. What does it take to disrupt him? Can Syl simply try to get onto/astride the chair to block him from sitting in it or does he just have to put a hand on it? At this point it seems like we need to beat on him to make him fail :( Even Tyra should be trying to do that since others have been cleared to attack #30. Do I currently have Tyra within the 'unsilence'? If so, KC can't rely on the silence field to help his stealth, but can still engage and hopefully even Martin too although the corridor might be too narrow. If Tyra is in fact within the unsilence I will say, "Stop him! He's trying to get control of the helm!" (Even KC and Martin should hear that too.) I will move toward her at least 5' trying to make sure I can deliver that message without getting in the way of KC and Martin trying to get to #30.
LaniLANI: Unaware of the desperate battle on the bridge, Lani continues to attack scro 3.

TyraTYRA: Ignoring her wounds, Tyra charges the scro attempting to take the helm and swings her attacks. -10 for wounds applied.

TYRA (GM): I can't tell distance but it looks like I'm pretty close so I'll assume she'll get off both attacks. I won't apply any initiative modifier for movement so adjust if need be.

FIGHT ON THE BRIDGE

The scro drops his weapons and leaps into the seat vacated by Shaarilla. He reaches for the helm to take control. Desperate to stop him, Syl and Tyra both attack with all of their strength. Both feel like they are moving through molasses (init 7 for Tyra and 4 for Syl) but the act of manning the helm and feeding spell energy into it is even slower. Tyra hits him on initiative 7 and almost kills him. He is very badly wounded but continues to gamely try to control the helm. Tyra follows up on initiative 6 with another hard backswing that plants the mace right in the scro's face, killing him instantly. Syl is already swinging and buries her sword in the scro's chest. The dead scro slumps down and falls to the deck next to the unconscious Shaarilla.

Meanwhile, scro 30, well aware that someone is coming up behind him, nevertheless tries to stop Tyra but fails.

Tyra, now very badly wounded due to overexertion, turns to face the scro as KC comes up from behind and attacks. KC hits twice, including a critical hit, and kills the scro.

Morty moves up towards the bridge to find the situation under control. When he sees Shaarilla lying on the floor, he is reminded that he did not see Randle during the battle.


SKIRMISH IN THE PASSAGEWAY

At the back of the passage, Lani attacks scro 3, hitting 3 times for 25 damage, very badly wounding him. He gets in a good attack back, but misses due to his wounds. Martin arrives and misses and then, the following round, Lani kills the last remaining scro.

Abruptly, the silence field lifts throughout the spelljammer.

The battle is over.

LANI: Lani calls from the aft end of the passage and says, "There is some sort of magical portal in the hold that we should investigate immediately!"

While Tyra recovers her breath and moves to assist Shaarilla, the rest of the group heads back to the cargo hold. Inside are a pair of dead scro but no sign of a portal. Lani tells the group she killed the two scro as they came out of the portal and points out exactly where she saw a glowing portal of magical energy hovering in the hold but it is no longer there. However, lying on the deck below where she saw the portal is a metal disc inscribed with various runes. Morty checks it for magic.

GM: Morty (and anyone else investigating the disc with Power Perception) can send a Power Perception roll.
GM: Those with Spelljammer lore can send a roll (even Shaarilla can send a roll though she won't get the benefit until she is conscious).

Lani goes on to say that after she killed the two scro, she tried to toss a small piece of debris through the portal but it just bounced.
