KCKC: Hearing Morty raise a ruckus and it getting cut short has peaked my curiosity. I mark the place in the book and set it down. Then getting to my my feet I head towards the door and open it to see what all the commotion is about.

KC: (GM) let me know if I have any partial turn left in which to act or not.
MartinMARTIN: Martin jumps when hears Morty’s shout that’s suddenly cut off – that doesn’t sound right at all. He grabs his sword and shield and claps his helm on his head and opens the door to his stateroom….
Morty
LaniLANI: Lani is surprised to get hit by a dagger that subsequently vanishes. She continues to attack scro 3 while trying to push him back.

Attack 1 (Fist) - Init [rolled 9], SC [rolled 142-42 = 100 - Hit DEF 100 or less], Dmg [rolled 6 3 (+4)- Total: 13], Threat [rolled 95]
Attack 2 (Flame Tongue) - Init [rolled 16], SC [rolled 111-9 = 102 - Hit DEF 102 or less (Crit DEF 54)], Dmg [rolled 11], Threat [rolled 91]

ShaarillaSHAARILLA: Rather than trying to finish off opponents, Shaarilla focuses on weakening opponents before they engage in melee. So she sends another Frost Bolt to an unwounded attacker.

SHAARILLA (tech): Initiative [rolled 3], Cast Chance 67% [rolled 8 vs cast chance of 67 - Critical Success!!], Damage [rolled 3 3 1 3 3 4 6 - Total: 23]
SylSYL (GM): Does she still possess her Reinforced Leather armor (much faster to get on)? Her first act will be to grab her Broadsword and +1 Small Round Shield. Then she will decide on her best alternative (don armor, step out, cast a spell, have lunch...)

GM: Unless she sold it, then yes, she still has it.

SYL: she was going to sell it to pay for training to be able to raise Astrogation to rank 9 but fortunately she had a glimpse of the future and saw the need for her armor...

SYL: will grab her shield and sword and look out her door to se if she has enough time to don her armor.
TyraTYRA: Tyra will attack Scro 4 with a pair of blows.

Attack 1 (Giant Basher) - Init: [rolled 10], Attack: [rolled 113-57 = 56 - Hit DEF 56 or less], Damage [rolled 15], Threat: [rolled 15]
Attack 2 (Giant Basher) - Init: [rolled 7], Attack: [rolled 113-80 = 33 - Hit DEF 33 or less], Damage [rolled 13], Threat: [rolled 68]

Lani and Tyra continue to battle the scro in the passageway.

Tyra hits once for 10 damage. The scro is now very badly wounded. The scro attacks at the same time but misses.

Lani hits scro 3 three times and kills him. The scro misses her but scro 2 again throws a dagger at her apparently not concerned with hitting one of his allies. As it happens, he hits her with the dagger for 3 damage after PROT. Again, the dagger vanishes after inflicting the damage.

Shaarilla targets scro 15 and hits with a critical hit for 35 damage, or half if he makes his save. The scro has a magic save of 39 [rolled 11 vs save of 39 - Successful Save!].

GM: Scro 15 is badly wounded.

Syl opens her door and peers out just as the frost bolt arcs by. She sees Tyra and Lani fighting scro in the passage to her right, and Shaarilla standing in the door to the bridge casting spells to her left. None of the scro are coming her way yet.

On the main deck, Morty slams his door shut as the scro rush forward. Just as the leading scro is about to try Morty's door, the next door down the passage opens and Martin rushes out. Two of the scro rush forward and attack Martin. One of them hits Martin for 3 damage after PROT.

MORTY (GM): Do I have any options here besides letting them open the door and blasting away with my mage tech pistol? Pretty much every spell I know requires verbal components, even though I actually have both the Silence and the Sphere of Silence spells ;) There really should be a Vocalize spell in SOME college, possibly even General. I guess I could use my Spectral Image talent to appear somewhere I'm not if I don't want to attack... I wish to use my October Flash of Insight if I have not already used it, I can't find any way to tell, it's not on the turn. Even something like a crawlspace out of my room up or down a deck that would allow me to maneuver and spread the alarm would be useful...

GM: There are no crawl spaces in any of the rooms but you could certainly consider adding them after this. Morty could try to find an area of his room that is not affected by the Silence spell. If he does, send me a Luck roll.

GM: Martin can make one attack this round.

MARTIN: Attack 1, Init [rolled 3], Strike Chance [rolled 114-13 = 101 - Hit DEF 101 or less (Crit DEF 30)], DMG [rolled 10], Threat [rolled 96]

GM: Martin hits scro 12 for 5 damage.

KC heard Morty start to shout something so he gets up, puts his book down, crosses the officer saloon and looks out. He does not see anything untoward though things seem unnaturally quiet. He steps forward to look down the lateral passage and is shocked to see a fierce battle taking place in total silence. He see Martin fighting a pair of scro pirates with more moving foward. Further aft, he sees Cardiff, one of Godfrey's bodyguards, locked in combat with a combat with more scro pirates.

GM: KC has no time remaining this round.

GM: Both the main deck and cargo deck battles are being waged in almost total silence. The only thing making noise is Shaarilla as she casts her spells because she is out of the radius of the silence fields.

GM: If you have not already done so, please update the armor/shield section of your character sheet with what you are currently wielding/wearing.
