SHAARILLA: Shaarilla most likely spent all of her spell points before going to sleep, renewing mage armor spells on as many people as possible. At the point we were awoken, how many spell points which you have available? Wondering if magic is an option for her at this point, such as perhaps some ice to help put out fires.

TYRA (OOC): I wouldn't assume that you exhaust all your spell points every night. Who in the group would expect armor spells from you regularly? I don't believe the system has a partial refill on spell points normally. Steve, what sort of spell points should Shaarilla have right now? Joe, you might consider having her put an armor spell on Tyra right now. It would save her at least 12 points in damage that she'll take in the battle.

GM: I would agree. Shaarilla is not at a level where she can safely cast Armor with no chance of a significant backfire so if you try to cast it on everyone, every night, then we will need to make die rolls for backfire. When staying at an inn in what the group generally considers to be a safe location, I would not assume that you cast it. As such, Shaarilla has all of her spell points available.

SYL (GM): Did she also have time to see if the door still had a trap on it?

SYL: KNOW Roll - 20 [rolled 24 vs. KNOW 20, 2x roll]

SYL: Her action will depend on the answers about spell on door and/or whether she thinks she knows the area well enough to Shadow Walk to the street since although not clumsy she doesn't have acrobatics to help her get down in one piece.

GM: I will plan to send the next turn tomorrow. Here are my assumptions for those who have not yet sent in turns:

Martin - Jump out the window and enter through the front door. KC successfully cast the Feather Fall spell on him (he rolled failure but he only failed by 3% so I marked off 3 points of his spell pool and it became success).
Morty - Continue gathering equipment.
Shaarilla - Try to case an Armor spell on Tyra.
Syl - Shadow Walking to get down to the street.


Round 3
BarnasBARNAS: Feeling a bit better and able to focus more now he understands the danger and so begins to pick up his stuff.
KCKC: "We got to get you out there to help out the others and I got just the right spell memorized! " he says looking down out the window. Stepping back he cast a feather fall spell on Martin and the goes to put on his boots quickly and then out the window to walk down the wall to the ground.

Feather Fall [rolled 67 vs cast chance of 64 - Failed Cast Chance!]

GM: Success with the use of 3 Spell Pool points.

LaniLANI: She will move into the room. She will attempt to move past the man in the main room as he could just be an innocent, such as the proprietor who is investigating. She expects him to attack and, if he does, she will attack back, using NL attacks while telling him that she is after the assassins. Of course, it is most likely that he is another assassin but she wants to be careful.

TECH: Only one attack after half move:
Attack 1 (Mace) - Init [rolled 9], SC [rolled 97-90 = 7 - Hit DEF 7 or less], Dmg [rolled 13], Threat [rolled 9]

TyraTYRA: "Hmph, so be it." She attacks Assassin 3 with vigor.

Morning Star - Init: [rolled 9], Attack: [rolled 98 - Automatic miss!], Damage [rolled 13], Threat: [rolled 76], NL Damage: [rolled 1 2 2 - Total: 5]


TYRA (GM): I realized that without her armor she has a +4 initiative modifier to her attacks. Also, I believe Tyra should have 3 points of endurance left since she has only pushed once in round 2 for 3 NL damage. I saw the turn had her down to 1 of 6 endurance left.
Tyra misses the assassin but then the assassin also misses with both his sword and dagger.

When Lani attempts to move past the dark figure with the sword, he steps up and attacks. As he does so, he says to her in drow, "You're one of the drow b*tch*es that Loric wants dead." He attacks with with sword and dagger. He misses with his sword but hits with his dagger with a critical hit for 4 damage, no protection.

KC casts a Feather Fall spell on Martin who then moves over to the window. He has never been the recipient of such a spell before and is leery about simply jumping out the window so he climbs up and drops. After free falling for 5 feet, the magic kicks in and he descends slowly to the street.

Syl attempts to cast Shadow Walking to get down to the street but fails her cast chance.

Barnas and Morty finish gathering up the group's equipment.

Shaarilla casts a Mage Armor spell on Tyra, which grants her a PROT of 4 for 5 hits.

Tyra misses her opponent again while the assassin hits her with his sword for 3 damage after PROT.


Lani hits her opponent once for 2 damage. The assassin misses her.

Martin rushes around to the front and, seeing the door open, enters cautiously. He can hear the sounds of combat nearby but it is too dark for him to make out how is fighting who. He sees another figure on the far side of the inn outlined by the fire that is burning on the second floor. He makes his way in that direction, bumping into a table along the way.

After casting the spell on Martin last round, KC fetches his magical boots and puts them on. He reaches the window and can walk down the next round.

Barnas, Morty and Shaarilla are still in the burning room. With Tyra blocking the door, they grab blankets and start beating out the flames hoping that Tyra can clear the doorway before they burn to death.

GM: Go ahead and send your actions for next round.

SYL (GM): is it too late to use Luck point to try and cast Shadow Walking in Round 3? I will include a roll for rounds 3 and 4. If she fails all those with her Sorcery pool she will change tactics and just go out the window and hope for the best to join the rest of her team/friends. If she IS able to successfully cast Shadow Walking she will head into the inn to join the fracas...
