This ring has several functions:
  • Standard Leap (0 charges) - The wearer of this ring is able to leap 30 feet ahead or 10 feet backward or straight up, with an arc of about 2 feet for every 10 feet traveled. This ability can be used up to four times a day without using charges. If all four uses have been consumed, and the wearer wants to leap again, he can burn 1 charge to gain four more leaps that must be used within 2 hours.
  • Running Leap (0 charges) - By taking an extra round, and with a 10 foot running start, the wearer can double the range of a Standard Leap (60 feet ahead or 20 feet straight up). Backward leaping cannot be doubled.
  • Super Leap (1 charge) - By expending 1 charge, the wearer can double the range of a Standard Leap (without taking the extra round or 10 ft running start required by the Running Leap). Backward leaping can be doubled using this ability.
  • Far Leap (2 charges) - By expending 2 charges, the wearer can leap up to a thousand feet away (with an arc of 20 feet per 100 feet traveled; so only outdoors or in a vast cavern). TMR is 20 so a thousand foot leap would take 10 rounds to cover. Alternately, the target can leap vertically half that distance. In either case, the target will land safely on their feet. However, if aiming for a particular point, they must roll equal to or less than their (PER + DEX) on percentile dice. Failure indictes that they landed 2 inches away (use 1d8 to determine direction of error, where 1 = too far, 2 = too far and to the right, 3 = to the right, 4 = too short and to the right, = 5 too short, 6 = too short and to the left, 7 = to the left, 8 = too far and to the left) per point the roll is missed by, per 100 feet jumped (so 20 inches per point if jumping 1000 feet).

The ring has 10 charges. The ring recovers one charge on the first day of every month. Alternately, the ring can be recharged by a Shaper at a cost of 30 sp per charge (minimum cost is 150 sp).

Note that even if all of the charges have been used, the ring will continue to function for the 0 charge abilities, and can still be recharged. It is not like a wand that disintegrates to dust when all of the charges have been used.
