This item appears to function exactly the same as a brazier of commanding fire elementals until it is used, at which time a great cloud of magical smoke will pour forth in a 10 foot radius from the brazier. Everyone in the smoke must make a successful Normal save or fall into a magical sleep. At the same time, a medium fire elemental appears and attacks the nearest creature (sleeping or awake) It will continue to attack until it is killed or there are no living opponents in sight. In either case, the elemental returns to its own plane of existence.
Sleeping creatures can only be awakened with magic, such as an E&E counterspell, versus rank 15 magic.
