A bag of holding appears to be a common carpet bag of various sizes (see below) and colors. The bag of holding opens into a nondimensional space, and its inside is larger than its outside dimensions. The size of the bag is determine by rolling on the table below.
Roll | Bag | Bag Weight | Add Weight | Bag Limit | Fully Loaded Weight | Volume Limit | Cost |
01-30 | Small | 3 lbs. | 1 lb. per 25 lbs. of load | 250 lbs. | 15 lbs. | 30 cu.ft. | 4,000 sp |
31-70 | Medium | 4 lbs. | 1 lb. per 50 lbs. of load | 500 lbs. | 20 lbs. | 70 cu.ft. | 5,500 sp |
71-90 | Large | 6 lbs. | 1 lb. per 50 lbs. of load | 1,000 lbs. | 35 lbs. | 150 cu.ft. | 7,000 sp |
91-100 | Very Large | 7 lbs | 1 lb. per 40 lbs. of load | 1,500 lbs. | 60 lbs. | 250 cu.ft. | 8,500 sp |
If overloaded, or if sharp objects pierce it (from inside or outside), the bag will rupture and be ruined. The contents will be lost forever in the vortices of nilspace.
Most bags of holding have straps that allow them to be worn as backpacks.
If the bag is opened by someone who is not attuned, they will only see some predetermined (by the attuned user). It is up to the attuned user to ensure what the predetermined items are and to make sure that they cover the apparent weight of the bag. |
