This barding appears to be made of heavy iron. It can only be worn by large riding animals such as horses. The horse gains a bonus of +4 to PROT that is not cumulative with any other armor except the natural armor of the animal.
When worn, the chance of a grievous injury is reduced by 40% (i.e., if the number needed to confirm a grievous is, say 70%, this armor reduces that to 30%).
