+15/+3 Short bow

When the bow is found, accompanying it is a box 4” x 3” x 12” long.  Inside the box is a pair of goggles made with polished crystal lenses and 12 1” long indentations.  Currently there are 2 crystals in the indentations and 10 empty ones.

The bow itself is highly ornate covered in runes and arcane symbols.  At the end of the bow is an oval shaped crystal.  Once attuned, when the bow is nocked with an arrow and drawn, a Portal opens in the place of the crystal.  When the arrow is released, the arrow enters the portal and disappears.

The goggles are well are ornately carved.  Normally, wearing the glasses provides nothing other than correcting a person’s vision to 20/20.  But, once attuned, when the bow is drawn and the portal is formed in front of the bow the goggles lenses will turn black and the player will now be looking through the portal.

The Crystals are the third part of the bow.  Each crystal is approximately 1” tall.  When the crystals are removed from the box and placed out in the open, the wearer of the glasses will then be able to look through the portal in front of the portal and out of the crystal of their choice (if more than 1 crystal has been placed).  When the arrow is finally fired, it will pass through the portal and out through the crystal towards its target.  If more than one crystal is placed within sight/range of each other, the arrow will enter the portal and then come out both (or more if more crystals are available) crystals at the same time and both arrows will fly towards the same target (although separate attack rolls must be made for each arrow.

Slightly above and below the large crystal on the bow, are mountings that allow up to two of the crystals to be mounted to the bow.  This allows the bow to be used in a more traditional way.  I.e. The wielder can aim at a target in sight and shoot.  Note though that the goggles must still be worn to be able to “see” the target. Without the goggles, the wielder suffers a -20 to all attack rolls when shooting the bow.
