This book is protected by a leather binding and holds dozens of vellum pages. It is lightweight and easy to carry, as opposed to most spell books, which are big and heavy. It could easily be mistaken for a mage's traveling spell book containing a subset of the wizard's full repertoire of spells. To someone who is not attuned, or is not a mage, the book appears to contain only empty pages. However, if a mage keeps this book in his possession for four hours straight, all of his spells from his spell books, regardless of where they are currently located, will appear in this book. If the book leaves his possession for more than 5 minutes, or the book is separated from the mage by more than 50 feet, all of the pages go blank and the mage must again take the book into his possession for four hours straight for his spells to reappear.
Note that there is no attunement roll needed for this book. It will automatically work for mages after spending the requisite attunement time. |
