The Fire Mace is a mace of black wood and black steel with sharp spikes intended for rending. It can be commanded to ignite into a torch-like fire, providing 30 foot radius illumination. This fire can burn even underwater or in airless space. A second command will extinguish the flame.
The weapon is otherwise a +2 Mace.
Anyone can use the weapon as a +1 Mace but attunement is required to command the flame on and off.
After reforging as a morning star (Cult of the Black Earth turn 1.6) the weaon also does 1d8 poison damage which is ongoing unless they make save. With critical hit, it does 2d8 instead of 1d8. Once a save is made, no more poison damage until hit again. If the weapon does not penetrate PROT, then no poison damage. The weapon now has a name Venomfang Torque.
Once per day, attuned wearer can ignore 2 points of PROT on target (after the fact). |
