Upon casting this spell, the wizard brings into being a shimmering, swordlike plane of force. The spellcaster is able to mentally wield this weapon (to the exclusion of all activities other than movement), causing it to move and strike as if it were being used by a skilled warrior. The following weapon stats are used:
Strike Chance |
|
Damage |
- 2d4+3
- +1 damage at ranks 4 and 8
- Willpower also modifies damage as if it were STR (c.f., Characteristics). For example, someone with a 22 WP would gain a bonus of +2 to damage.
|
Initiative |
- 1d10
- +1 initiative at ranks 5 and 10
- Intelligence also modifies initiative as if it were DEX (c.f., Characteristics). For example, someone with a 22 INT would gain a +2 to initiative.
|
Grievous |
- 50 + (rank x 2)
- This is the chance that a rolled potential grievous really is a grievous.
|
Number of Attacks |
- 2 at ranks 1 through 9
- 3 at rank 10
|
Can Affect |
- Normal
- +1 at rank 3
- +2 at rank 7
- +3 at rank 10
|
The sword can be parried normally. It can be destroyed with a successful counterspell, by killing the caster (or knocking them unconscious) or if the caster moves more than 50 (+10 per rank) feet from the sword. The sword persists for 10 rounds, plus 1 additional round per rank. Wielding it requires full concentration. If concentration is interrupted, the sword remains in its current location but does not attack again until the mage is able to concentrate on it again. |
