This spell enables the mage to magically call into being a sturdy cottage or lodge made of wood. The floor area of the lodging will be 30 (+30/rank) square feet, and the surface will be level, clean, and dry. In all respects the lodging will resemble a normal cottage, with a sturdy door, two or more shuttered windows, and a small fireplace.
While the lodging will be secure against winds up to 50 (+5 per rank) miles per hour, it has no heating or cooling source (other than natural insulation qualities). The dwelling does, however, provide considerable security otherwise, as it will be as strong as a normal stone building regardless of its material composition, will resist flames and fire as if it were stone, and will be generally impervious to normal missiles (but not the sort cast by siege machinery or giants). Even the doors and windows are as strong as if they had been fashioned of stone.
The inside of a shelter will contain furnishings as desired by the mage - up to 1 furnishing (bed, chair, table, desk, rug, pillow, bowl, etc.) per rank (30 at rank 21, 50 at rank 22).
The material component of this ritual is a small replica of the shelter. If the cast chance roll result is a natural 100, the material component is destroyed. Otherwise, the material component is not used up in the casting of the spell. |
