The mage drains 1 point of CON per rank from the target if the target fails to save. Drained CON may be used to heal the Mage’s hit point damage (each point of CON drained heals 2 hit points) or to increase his STR for 1d6 rounds (3 points of CON = +1 STR; max STR is 25 at ranks 1-19, 26 at rank 20 and 27 at rank 22) or a combination of the two. A creature drained to 0 CON dies and becomes a zombie in 1d6 rounds. If any sort of clerical healing spell (Cure Light Wounds, etc.) is cast on the victim before they become a zombie, they are restored to 1 CON.

Drained CON recovers at a rate of 1 point per 10 minutes of rest unless the target was drained to 0 or less, in which case it recovers at a rate of 1 point per hour of rest.
