By means of this spell, the mage is able to enter any large plant and pass any distance to a plant of the same species in a single round regardless of the distance separating the two (both must be on the same plane of existence). The entry plant must be alive. The destination plant must be very familiar to the mage, or visible to him by some means.
If the destination plant is not living, or otherwise destroyed when the mage attempts this spell, the spell will fail.
If the spell backfires, the mage teleports to a similar plant that is 1 to 100 miles distant in a random direction (roll 1d10 - on a 1-8 roll 1d20 miles distant, on a 9-10 roll 1d100 miles distant).
This spell can safely be used once per 24 hour period. If the mage uses this spell more than once during a 24 hour period, he suffers a cumulative 4d6 damage per use (4d6 damage the second time it is used, 8d6 the third time, 12d6 the fourth time, etc.). There is no saving throw or other way to prevent this damage though it may be healed normally. Subtract 1d6 damage per 4 ranks (thus, at rank 16 and higher, the mage can use this spell twice per 24 hour period without incurring damage). |
