The mage creates 1, +1 per 2 ranks, magical missiles that always hit their target. Each missile causes 1d4+1 damage. The caster can have all missiles hit a single target or he can split up the missiles in any way he chooses to have them strike multiple targets within range. Note that Protection does not apply to magic missiles and targets are not allowed a saving throw. Damage can only be stopped by magic items such as a Brooch of Shielding or a successful Magic Resistance roll. A single roll is made against all missiles that hit simultaneously. Damage reduction (DR) can reduce the damage of missiles but is applied against each individual missile.
