The mage creates a windstorm within an area with a radius of 10 feet + 2 feet per rank. All characters within this area except the mage suffer 1d4 damage (2d4 at rank 4, 3d4 at rank 8, etc.) and must check to determine if they remain standing by making a STR/DEX (average of the two) on a d20. This roll is modified by -1 per 4 ranks of the caster, rounded down (-1 at rank 4, -2 at rank 8, etc.).

The spell lingers for 1 round per rank of the caster and anyone who enters the area is similarly affected. A prone character in the area takes half damage, or one quarter damage if they make their save.

Any character protected by some form of free action is immune to the effects of this spell.

A character can pass through the area of effect of this spell in one round if they don't fall down, or three rounds if they crawl through prone.
