The mage can cast this spell on any cut or natural stone surface. A one-way window will form on the surface that penetrates up to 12". Assuming that the thickness of the surface is not greater than the penetration, the caster, and anyone else on this side of the Granite Window, can see through the stone surface to the other side. The diameter of the window is 12". For each rank that the mage achieves in this spell, he may either increase the penetration by 6" or the diameter of the window by 3". This spell will not function on magically enchanted stone surfaces. Once cast, this spell is stationary unless it is cast while the caster is inside solid stone (c.f., Spell of Walking Through Stone). There is no visible effect on the far side of the stone window except that a detect magic will reveal magic, and power perception and spell lore may allow someone to figure out the nature of the magic. |
