The spell causes 1 target of the casters choice who is within the caster's range to suffer the effects of an increase in the force of gravity. The force increases with rank. The effect of the spell is that the target's STR, DEX and CON are reduced by the caster's rank with this spell for the duration of the spell. TMR and rank with any physical skill (including weapon, shield, defense and maneuver in armor skills) is reduced by half the caster's rank with the spell, rounded up. It does not affect Hit Points.
For example, a mage who is rank 9 with this spell, casts it at a fighter with the following stats: STR 22, DEX 18, CON 19, TMR 11, All Swords 8, Large Shields 5 and MIA 3. The fighter's new stats are: STR 11, DEX 9, CON 10, TMR 6, All Swords 3, Large Shields 2, MIA 0.
The target is allowed a magic save to reduce or negate the effects, as indicated below:
- Save Failed - Effects are as listed above.
- Save Successful - Target suffers half effect to stats, no effect to skills and duration is halved (gravity effect is reduced).
- Save Made by Half - Target suffers a -1 to STR, DEX and CON for half the normal duration (gravity effect is mostly nullified).
- Critical Success - No effect.
- Grievous Success - No effect.
