The spell opens a circular pit under a single human-sized target (+1 creature at ranks 5, 10, 15, 20 and 22), and sucks the unfortunate standing over it into the bowels of the earth to be burned in molten rock. At the end of the first round, the target is buried up to their neck. Thereafter they are below the surface of the earth and will die from lack of oxygen after a number of rounds equal to their CON. If the target doesn't need to breathe, then they will begin to take heat damage every 30 minutes starting 1 hour after the spell was cast. Damage is 1d6 cumulative (i.e., 1d6 the first time, 2d6 after 30 minutes, 3d6 after 1 hour, etc.). The target is immobile but if they have some magic that can be activated by sound alone, they can invoke it to potentially free themselves of their doom.
