This spell is identical to Teleport with a few important exceptions:
- First, there is no chance of error when teleporting to a memorized location if it is on the same plane of existence.
- Second, the mage can memorize and teleport to locations on other planes of existence but, in such cases, there is a chance of error (q.v.)
- Third, the mage can teleport more weight.
- Fourth, the mage can attempt to teleport to a location that he has been to before, but has not committed to memory.
The mage can teleport to any location he can clearly see or has memorized. He can have 1 memorized location per rank. These are in addition to the memorized locations available to the wizard from the Teleport spell. The mage can use memorized locations from either spell (Teleport or Teleport Without Error) interchangeably between spells. He must spend 24 hours at a location to memorize it. If he has used up his quota of memorized locations, he may still memorize a new location but must choose a previously memorized location to purge from memory.
If the spell succeeds, and the destination is memorized and is on the same plane of existence, the mage arrives at the desired location. If teleporting to a memorized location on another plane of existence, or a non-memorized location on the same plane of existence, roll percentile dice and add rank. On a result of 01-25, the mage arrives 1d20 feet from the intended location. Roll a d10 for direction:
1 = Low
2 = N
3 = NE
4 = E
5 = SE
6 = S
7 = SW
8 = W
9 = NW
10 = High
If the arrival location would put the mage in a solid object, he suffers 1d4 damage per foot of distance between his arrival point and the nearest open location and instead arrives at the open location. He will arrive in a downed or prone position and smoking slightly.
The mage may teleport himself and 400 pounds, plus an additional 50 pounds per rank. The additional weight can be living or non-living. Sentients targets must be willing or the spell will fail. |
