When this spell is cast, the mage and all of his gear become insubstantial and wraithlike. The mage can only be affected in combat by magical weapons (+1 or better) or by creatures otherwise able to affect those struck only by magic weapons. While in Wraithform, the mage is able to pass through solid object with ease. The mage is not able to affect the material world while in wraithform. He may return to normal form at any time, but this ends the spell effect. Note that, while in Wraithform, the mage is affected by many magical spells and effects that are usually only usable against undead (e.g. Sunburst, et.al.) although he may not be "turned".
While in wraithform, the character can see into both the prime material plane and the ethereal plane but can hear nothing on the prime material plane. Nor is he able to speak to those on the prime material plan though watchers will see his lips moving.
The mage may not move faster than 1x TMR. They cannot fly but they can easily ascend and descend vertical surfaces at normal TMR. |
