This discipline allows the mage to mentally monitor how his behavior and speech is affecting another, and modify his approach to make the subject more comfortable...and more gullible. In game terms, this spell increases the mage's Charisma attribute by 1 per 3 ranks with this spell. Only creatures whose WP is equal to or higher than the mage's are allowed a mental save to realize that they are being manipulated.
If the mage is trying to talk someone into a potentially dangerous action, then they get a mental save regardless of WP (+20 to save is the action is likely to be very dangerous or fatal). A creature who saves against this spell realizes that the caster is trying to manipulate him, or is mocking him. |
