A Wall of Force spell creates an invisible barrier in the locale desired by the case, up to the spell's range. The wall of force cannot move and is totally unaffected by most spells, including dispel magic. However, a disintegrate spell will immediately destroy it, as will a rod of cancellation or a sphere of annihilation. Likewise, the wall of force is not affected by blow, missiles, cold, heat, electricity, etc. Spells and breath weapons cannot pass through it in either direction, although dimension door, teleport, and similar effects can bypass the barrier.

The wizard can, if desired, form the wall into a spherical shape with a radius of up to 1 foot per rank or an open hemispherical shape with a radius of 1.5 feet per rank. With this configuration, teleport, dimension door or other similar effects cannot penetrate the sphere in either direction. Otherwise, the wall is a flat surface of 50 square feet per rank, with a minimum dimension of 5 feet (i.e., at rank 1, it can be 5 feet by 10 feet but not 2 feet by 25 feet or 1 foot by 50 feet). The spell must be anchored to a solid surface, usually the ground. It can be used to form a bridge, as long as at least one end is anchored to the ground.

The wall of force must be continuous and unbroken when formed; if its surface is broken by any object or creature, the spell fails. The caster can end the spell on command.

A phase mage can see their own Wall of Force (as a shimmering reflection) if within (rank x 5) feet of it and it is otherwise light out or they have a means to see in the dark.

A phase mage can also choose to make the Wall of Force visible to all upon casting. In such cases, everyone can see it as a shimmering reflection if within (PER x 2) feet of the wall. For phase mage, use the better of (rank x 5) or (PER x 2).

At rank 22, the caster may choose the make the Wall of Force one way. That means that people and objects can freely pass through the wall in one direction, but not the other.
