The mage is able to conjure the visible equivalent of an "Unseen Servant" to assist him with first aid. It costs 1 spell point to summon a medical servant.
First Aid to heal damage normally takes 5 minutes to complete. By expending one spell point, the mage is able to complete first aid much faster by conjuring a medical servant to assist him. The servant appears as a "misty octopus" that hovers over the target of the first aid and assists the mage by conjuring bandages, applying direct pressure to wounds where directed, and tying off bandages as needed. The servant can also be used for other medical procedures as necessary.
The degree by which the medical servant can speed up the First Aid process depends on the rank of the mage. At rank 22, the medical servant is practically reading the mage's mind to understand what to do and performing the actions very quickly.

Note that even though this is a talent, it still requires Verbal and Somatic components to summon the medical servant. The servant has an effective strength of 15 and can be used for purposes other than medical though it must always remain within 5 feet of the mage and in front of him. Otherwise, it can use its 8 limbs for any other purpose as well. |
