By means of this spell, the mage is able to shape metal into a desired shape to suit his purpose. For example, he could shape a lump of metal into a metal club, provided there was enough metal available. Similarly, he could reshape the iron bars of his cell to escape imprisonment. While the mage is shaping the metal, it is extremely hot but the spell protects the mage's hands from burning.
Note that craftsman skills can help determine how successful the mage was at fashioning a particular item. For example, if he wanted to fashion a sword, then the GM might call for a weaponsmith roll.
The mage's rank with this spell determine the amount of metal he can shape with this spell.
Rank | Metal | Volume |
1-6 | Iron | 6 cu.in. per rank |
7-10 | Bronze | 6 cu.in. per rank above 6th |
11-14 | Brass | 6 cu.in. per rank above 10th |
15-18 | Steel | 8 cu.in. per rank above 14th |
19-20 | Mithril | 10 cu.in. per rank above 18th |
21 | Adamantite | 12 cu.in. per rank above 20th |
22 | Eog | 14 cu.in. |
The mage is able to shape the desired metal for 1 minute per rank. At the end of this time, the metal hardens to the shape that it is currently in. |
