This spell creates a hemispherical bubble of cooler temperature centered on the mage. The bubble is faintly transparent on the sides and darkened on the top, providing shade to those within. If the outside temperature is over 75 degrees, the interior of the bubble provides a cool respite from the heat. The temperature within the bubble is up to 2 degrees cooler per rank than the outside temperature, to a minimum of 75 degrees. Thus, if the ouside temperature is 100 degrees and this spell is cast by a rank 10 mage, the interior temperature of the bubble is a much more comfortable 80 degrees. If the outside temperature was only 90 degrees, then the interior is at the minimum of 75 degrees.
The radius of the bubble is 5 feet, plus 1 foot per rank (30 feet at rank 21, 40 feet at rank 22). The mage can choose to make the bubble smaller if he chooses.
Once cast, the effect does not move. |
