The target of this spell is able to sense the presence of objects around them out to a range of 5 feet, +1 foot per rank (40 feet at rank 22). Only physical objects can be sensed in this manner. Thus, if the target is in total darkness or a very thick fog, this spell will allow him to sense other objects and be able to move with greater safety and confidence.
Initially, only a rough, general size and shape can be determined with this spell. Thus, a human sized figure lying on a pile of debris could not be distinguished from the debris itself. At rank 10, the target gains better clarity in distinguishing objects, as represented by a perception roll to be able to identify objects with this sense.
