By means of this ritual, which takes 5 hours to cast, the mage is able to contact a hero or group of heroes to perform a quest or deed. The ritual does not allow the mage to specify exactly who will be summoned though, unless the mage backfires, the contacted heroes will be of like morals and generally suited for the quest. The quest must be outlined in the casting of the ritual. The ritual will fail automatically if the desired quest is superfluous or something that could easily be accomplished with existing assets. The GM is the final arbiter of whether this ritual will be successful and who will be contacted.

If the ritual succeeds, the contacted heroes will know only that they are being targeted with magic and will probably resist (attempt a save vs magic). A targeted hero who is skilled in mental communication is allowed an 4x INT roll (on d100) to recognize that mental contact is trying to be made and may allow the contact to take place. If contact is established, either voluntarily or as a result of a failed saving throw, the mage may engage in two-way communication and explain the nature of the quest. If any of the contacted heroes agree to undertake the quest, all of the heroes are summoned to the mage's presence.
