A section of forest, jungle or other mass of vegetation, in a 100 foot radius, plus 10 feet per rank, will work to the will of the mage to destroy his enemies. All enemies of the mage within the section of forest suffer multiple attacks per round from the creatures, trees and underbrush such that they suffer 5d4 damage per round. This damage is increased by +1 point per rank (5d4+1 at rank 1, 5d4+2 at rank 2, etc.). The damage is reduced by the target's protection.
Movement also becomes more difficult. TMR is reduced to half of what it otherwise would have been in the forest. Spells that have somatic components cannot be cast from within the Forest of Dread.
Targets protected by a Forest Guardian spell, or similar magic, are immune to the effects of the Forest of Dread. Creatures caught in the area that are not enemies of the caster are not attacked but are affected by the movement penalty. |
